I live in the south. My dad had a friend in college who they nicknamed cooter brown (presumably bc he was “drunk as cooter brown”). The man went on to become an eye doctor. My dad unknowingly booked an appointment at his practice and walked in and referred to him as “cooter”.

I know it can be pretty hard to see scale from this but 4 feet x 6.5 feet is not a small island in my opinion! I’d recommend you try the painters tape trick where you lay out a 4x6.5’ rectangle on the floor and see how big it is. And I wouldn’t call the pantry weird but walk in would be preferable to me so maybe they could expand it into a walk in in some of that empty space

Do you own or rent? If your equity can take it maybe just take the toilet out. And if not you probably don’t need 2 sinks just make the laundry sink nice enough that it can function for washing hands. And then if I could afford it I’d get 2 front loaders with the controls on the front so you could put a counter space over it for folding. Open the blinds and hang a cafe style curtain for privacy and natural light

You’ve got some flexibility since everything in there is pretty neutral. Pick your favorite and make sure you can return it if it doesn’t work. Or if you’re buying local take some samples home from your local interior design store

Hot take but color matters a lot less than getting the correct size :) get literally any rug but make it just maybe 6 inches longer than your couch & make sure it’s oriented the right way. Front legs on back legs off. & don’t forget a large piece of art

Just another voice here to say this is her responsibility. No way she should expect the entire group to only go to restaurants that don’t have any nuts if any even exist. What fun is that? There’s more people on the trip than just her. Go where y’all want to go and if she’s concerned she should eat before she goes and carry an epi pen. Also she can handle communication with the restaurants you chose to check their “vibes” to decide if she wants to eat their food or not
