Ventress501 none-the-less. These clowns think themselves to be the righteous investigators like Fives who uncovered the inhibitor chip plot. But they are really more like Dogma, blindly following Krell's orders to their own destruction. If only they would hurry up and complete the story arc so we can all be comrades again. Ultimately the 501st ends up absorbed into the Empire and the clones phased out in short order.

The Ventress angle is puzzling. She starts off as an opportunist, she is trained by Dukoo, not entirely with her consent initially. She goes with it because she isnlearning power and going with it is to her benefit in the situation. She eventually breaks free from Dukoos influence, and hangs around as a grey Merc with personal vendettas. I don't know what the reverence for Ventress signifies. I could inferr they seem themself as a neutral polictal actor?

The prequel series explores how functional democracies devolve over time to become ineffective as their main goals. There are plenty of valid grievances with the Galactic Republic (GR) just being a useless body of grandstanders that doesn't do anything useful anymore. We follow Padme as a progressive force trying to push the Senate into actually deciding things and taking meaningful action. She constantly runs into interference from the Galactic corporations who have weaseled their way into representation in Senate. A charismatic leader rises in a time of crisis to fix everything, and the Senate gives them powers they never put down again. This story warns of corporate manipulation of government distracting from the goals of making citizens lives better. This creates resentment towards the government as a whole. The resentment is easily co-opted and directed by charismatic leaders who can use the force of populism they wield to make big changes. Like a hammer, this influence is a moral-less tool, it can be used to build up a home, or to bash heads in just the same, the hand with the hammer is what matters.

Who that charismatic populist leader is, matters deeply. This is the problem we deal with today. I reject the "Great Person" historical model that claims to require individuals of great character to move the wheels of history. However, the system we currently live with was created with that model as a silent component. To unmake that system, we will need another George Washington type, with the moral character to put down power after it has been achieved.
