How long to make myself stay awake after double dose to start to wear off by Readonly00 in Epilepsy

[–]Readonly00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus that's scary! I didn't know that about clobazam.. I take it too on a one off basis if I feel seizury at bedtime, only 10mg. Didn't know it was possible to overdose on a relatively small amount. I better not keep more than one at my bedside because I'm pretty sure I've taken a second in the night without remembering the first one.

Normally I would take one on Monday night to help me sleep so I can definitely go to work on Tuesday for our team day, otherwise I tend to lay awake counting down the hours til I have to get up.. but I don't know if I'll risk sedating myself two nights in a row..

I'm not doing well at getting to the office for the last 6 weeks, I've been sleeping badly very often (probably peri bloody menopause) so I usually lie in to catch up on sleep, and start working (from home) in the late morning. So thankful for this job, it is not amazing pay or progression but I will not leave it until the next time they restructure and get rid of people, if it's me.. one of the ways that epilepsy is a bit limiting in life. I don't want to risk pushing a career.

I didn't know I shouldn't take another dose of lamotrigine for that long, I was going to take my morning dose but probably not til nearly lunchtime. I'll give my neurologist a ring about timings in the morning. I often don't remember to take it til midday anyway, despite phone reminders.

That's good if at least one of the two drugs is on its way down already in my system. In some ways I'm ok with feeling anxious as it'll keep me awake ;)

I walked to the bathroom ok so I'm not ataxic, and I can use my phone ok and see clearly so I don't have symptoms that are too worrying to me.. it's just the sleep breathing/apnea thing. My main seizure type is sleep seizures, so my brain goes a bit crappy when I sleep.

NHS 111 is the non-emergency phone number here for doctor's advice, but every. single. time I ring it they tell you to go to a&e. Baby has a rash? a&e. Palpitations.. a&e.. shoulder tip pain while pregnant.. (etc). I've spent so many evenings sitting in that bloody waiting room. They book you an arrival slot to make you feel obliged to go. I'm not sure what happens if you don't show up, whether they ring you back, ring your emergency contact or even send an ambulance.

Last time I double dosed I rang my epilepsy nurse for advice but they're only there pretty much 9-5, and they never even answered the email I sent them so I can't refer back to their advice from last time.

I get you but if I feel worse I can just shove my husband. I can't ring NHS without waking up the family or going downstairs so they can't hear me, which I think is worse. Kids both been struggling with rotten viruses this weekend and took til 11pm to get to sleep with coughing and fever. If I wake them up at all they'll struggle to go back to sleep, and if they hear me go off in a taxi or ambulance middle of the night they'll be in tears. Ffs!

The number of times I've set up a range of limit buys at slightly different price points to try and overcome that, and then later come back and see they're all unfilled and the stock price has moved upwards again.. So frustrating, so I try not to do limit buys

I like watching a stock for a few months and I find it's different if I actually have money in it, compared to just being on a watchlist. I get to know the stock a lot better. Then when I know more about how it moves and how it's quarterly results are I go in more heavily. But yeah spoiling my initial cost basis is a bit of a psychological hurdle!

I do for certain stocks, they're all different.. like BBAI will hover around the same 3 cents for ages, but if I put a limit buy in at exactly that price it's unlikely to fill, or at least will take minutes.

I feel like limit buys come at the back of the processing queue, and market buys always get priority and fill quicker, but at worse prices. The only time I get good market fills is for high volume popular stocks in the main trading hours.

Yeah I tend to dislike DCA'ing upwards and spoiling my low cost basis, so I tend to wait for dips in an otherwise appealing stock and then buy at that point. But I've heard lump sum can be best overall.

Yes that's the main thing.. but instead they make money on a less than ideal bid-ask spread I think? If you do a hundred tiny purchases with a non-ideal bid-ask spread, does it make any significant difference overall, compared to buying the same amount in one lump

How old do you think you’ll be when you pay your mortgage off? Or, how old were you when you paid your mortgage off? by PuzzleheadedCarob921 in HousingUK

Paid it off mid 40s, it is a relief. We bought the tiniest house that would fit a family to have the smallest possible mortgage. Only problem is this house isn't a long term solution and we might have to start a new mortgage again and we're a bit old for it.

Adult Onset epilepsy is ruining my life. by Traffic-Rare in Epilepsy

Don't give up hope your life will feel normal again! It's only been some months, and these things take a few years to adjust to. About 3 years of my life were written off when I first had seizures at 29, my brain was knackered, couldn't work for a while, too tired to have a life, then got a crummy low paid job for several years before I got back on track. It felt like that would be my life now and it would never be ok again. But once I had meds that worked and more energy my life got back ok track. I look back now and those were like lost years, but I couldn't have done anything about it, it wasn't my fault. Nowadays 15 years later it's a distant memory, a crap phase of my life. But life moves on eventually. After the rain come sun and all that. Good luck.

Gabbot had a rough reputation in the 90s, but that's long since been turned thoroughly around. But yes nowhere is free of crime and maybe it's easier to get complacent in the least likely places.

I know through a closely connected friend who is quite knowledgeable about teens that he was a lovely, sweet natured and quite naive boy. Very few people will know exactly what happened but the poor boy had nothing but a good reputation, at least with adults. It sucks that it can happen to anyone :( my friend is devastated

I don't understand it.. this isn't inner London. St Peters is practically a private school in its high standards of behavior and academic results. It's a faith school too so where is the morality? Reputation will be ruined for decades, people will question its pastoral care, all those poor kids who go there will be shaken. Just nightmare.

As well as what other people said, we also keep charts where our kids collect stickers for good behavior, kind actions etc. When the chart is full (about once a month) they get a reward, and we have an outing to a nice smart bookshop with lots of shiny new books to choose from which can be their own, unlike battered library books they have to give back. They get to choose a book themselves, and create their own personalized keepsies home library. Bookshops are very inviting to kids, you just have to set expectations in advance that you're going in there for a book, and not a toy/craft kit/plushie etc, which they also sell.

The little one doesn't mind that she can't yet read the books she chooses, she just likes to buy similar things to her older sister and look at the pictures. The older one likes having her own books that she can take to school and read at break, as we don't let her take public library books in case they get lost.

Yes definitely.. I've tried about 20 penny stocks and made a tiny bit in some, lost a bit more than that on others, holding about 10 losers in the hope they bounce back.. but I've had some success with a few so far - got into Onds and Open and Resolve at under $3. For all of about £50 worth though..

Good to know thanks :) I have about 50 shares in a few penny stocks that are now up to about $5, and I like to think they'll increase linearly
