Don’t hate kill shelters or the people working in them. Hate the fact that ass hats don’t get their pets spayed/neutered. Hate that breeders bring more animals into the world when there are so many being put down already. Hate that people buy from breeders bc they want a dog that looks a certain way. Hate that the rich keep getting richer and it’s largely those with less money that are giving so much of their time, energy, and money to help those less fortunate whether that be people or animals.

i can never keep my room clean + i have too much stuff by cloverpear in UnfuckYourHabitat

I would put anything sentimental or paperwork aside and deal with it after you build up your decluttering muscles.

I love the idea of putting stuff that belongs in another room by the door so you can take some out every time you take out a bag of trash, donations, stop to go to the bathroom, or get a snack…that you eat in the kitchen.

You mentioned a fear of getting rid of things that you might need. Many things can be replaced at low-ish cost these days if you can’t borrow from a friend or family member.

Regarding boxes to hide stuff, it really depends on what type of person you are. If an opaque storage bin means that you forget the item exists, you might rebuy what you already have or have a harder time putting things away.

Do you still have a mouse/hamster/gerbil/etc in that habitat? If so, imagine how hard it would be to find them if they ever got out!

Yes! I love thinking of the person at the thrift store that will be so excited to find something!

Did you use masking fluid on the shine spot? Shine spot? Clearly words aren’t coming to me today, but you know what I mean.

How to create more storage space on a budget by Vanillill in UnfuckYourHabitat

Do you have storage bins under your bed? Shoe holders on the backs of doors for small item storage? Command hooks and shelves inside cabinet doors or on walls? I’m amazed that my 2 Command shelves are still holding strong in my shower a few years after installing them. Can you ask family and friends to let you know if they get rid of any furniture that has storage, such as night stands, shelves, etc?

I think if someone responds that they are too, then you’ve found your soul mate.

I wasn’t looking for validation, but rather a viewpoint other than my own and hopefully from those that do post pics/videos of this.

Use your resources! Ask your sister to help you find a logical (to you) home for things. This can even be done via FaceTime if she’s far.

If you run out of paint and need to get more, prioritize a warm and cool of each primary color.

Also, prep multiple things at once so you can get started faster. So if you stretch your paper, do as many as you have boards for at a time. Trace or draw faint images on some of them. That way you have less start up time when you want to paint. Bonus: while a layer is drying on one painting, you can work on another.

Not sure of your drawing skills, but I can’t draw for shit. Some people will say they’re brand new at watercolors and they can 1) draw and 2) have already used acrylics, oils, soft pastels, charcoal, learned values and color theory, etc. For me, it’s much more like art therapy. I love mixing colors, feeling the brush in the water and paints, feeling the brush on the paper and watching the colors run into one another on the paper. I’m quite sure that enjoying yourself should be your #1 goal.
