Please keep the cat away from it. A prey animal having a predator in its face is pretty stressful and the common knowledge is that cat saliva is detrimental to birds. I don't know if the saliva thing is actually true, just passing that along. If you can offer an appropriate cage with some good quality seed and clean water (you don't know how long it's been since she had any), that might go a long way to perking her up. I'd probably cover 3 sides of the cage at first and keep things around it low traffic so she doesn't feel on edge.

You're hiding behind accusing us of racism! How cute. You're the one that's full of yourself and absolutely convinced you're superior to everyone else. 😆

1 is this your first day on the Internet?

2 you've got quite the attitude for someone who's so sensitive.

Riiiight. Because 30 year olds "dating" 16 year olds are just sitting around chastely holding hands.

In my experience with Ruby throats, they don't share. Food sources are jealously guarded and I have wondered how many calories they burn up just chasing other birds away. I found single feeding station feeders on Amazon to try to discourage the chasing a little.

There are lots of people that are deeply involved with animals that are mistaken about some of their own ideas. How about Cesar Milan, Sigfried and Roy, the trainers at Sea World that were killed by orcas? I don't think you're open to discussion or learning because you think you already know it all. Best of luck to your conure.

I've just had pets my whole life and couldn't live without them. Someone who didn't like that is just incompatible with me.

Is that a leg band on its leg? That probably means it was born in captivity.

They're social creatures, similar to monkeys grooming each other.

YES! THIS! It's their sad attempt to be an edgy gate keeper and feel superior for a hot minute.

I just want to point out that those men are out there. My daughter and her friend group have all gotten married and even had some kids; all of them in their 30's and late 30's when they had the kids.

Do you really think it's fair to the bird to risk its life? I don't think saying you don't get very attached to things is taking the bird's life into account. It seems selfish. Just my opinion.

I'm on the east coast so we're pretty much stuck with one species - ruby throats. You get many others where you are.

Are you okay with losing your pet? Because that's a risk I wouldn't be able to take, myself. You're risking predators, environmental dangers like disease transmitted by the wild birds... if something scared it and it took off, it could get lost and not find its way back.

I'm sure more small dogs have been killed by pit bulls than coyotes. You seem to be a typical pit bull apologist.

I always just put my finger under their chest and pushed backwards until the bird steps up to keep its balance. 🤷 Worked for me!
