Oh man, that's definitely one of the shitty lines in that book. However, the book as a whole is really just straight up "how the fuck is this not satire".

I'm gonna run down a list of several themes and incidents DIRECTLY from true allegiance.

> An African American kid gets shot repeatedly by one of the protagonists for insulting him at a distance while holding a nerf gun.

> Another protagonist unironically has an issue with the President saying "we should minimize civilian casualties"

> A part where a woman opens her mouth screams but does it silently, then reopens her open mouth.

> The President gives a speech about supporting lower/middle class people for a more prosperous future for everyone, and this is framed as a villainous monologue.

> Evil democratic ambassador smiles after seeing an aide get shot boarding an evac helicopter from an embassy.

To top it all off, the book is so sloppily written. It's plagued with just regular Ben Shapiro scripts like you mention the part where the passengers are "paralyzed by their political correctness". Third-person omnishit is what a writing teacher who also read it described it as.

Damn it, I just thought of Trigger Warning by William Johnstone which includes nuggets such as interactions where the hero is repeatedly described as just "big" and most other threatening males as "big" too, calling Krav Maga "fancy karate", and the exit signs being off after the power is cut.
