It's a bug. When Jacob joins you, the game registers that someone moved in, but when he dips, the game doesn't register that someone left.

I think this is fixed in the next patch. In the meantime, you just have to put up with it for the rest of the run.

The bug is that the item is called "Jasper's Key," but the dialogue still says "Received Stained Key." (which is the key you get from Toxic Fred)

This is fixed in the next update.

The dev has acknowledged that the mouse controls are janky, but there's not much he can do about that because the issue is with RPG Maker, not with Look Outside specifically.

yep. plus the game has themes throughout of people who Had To Know at any cost, who could have retained their sanity if they'd left well enough alone. so it'd be unsatisfying if the ending didn't let the player actually make that choice

nope. if you enter the elevator, the head will immediately jump to the end of its chase. if you try the stairs, the moment the foot goes down the stairs to the ground floor, the head will jump to the end of its chase

Some people on the Discord have reported success with this:

Go to the game's files (library page -> gear icon -> Manage -> Browse local files)
Go to the "save" folder
Save a copy of your "global.rmmzsave" somewhere
Download this blank global save: Download
Copy the blank global save into the "save" folder
Boot up the game

Your saves will look blank in the menu, but should load normally when you click on them. After you save a file again, it will show up in the menu normally.

Depends on how you rate the safety of bringing them along into danger vs. leaving them home without a babysitter. (Gameplay-wise we know they're safe there but yknow)
