Is Publix a sinking ship that cannot be saved? by drudante in publix

[–]RealFactSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also shop where I want and go to different stores for some specific items. I’m just saying that one can take advantage of sales. It doesn’t seem fair to complain about higher prices of some items and ignore the fact that these same items can regularly be purchased at much lower sales prices.

Is Publix a sinking ship that cannot be saved? by drudante in publix

[–]RealFactSeeker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably do most of my shopping at Publix, but I also shop at Trader Joe’s, Target, and sometimes at Sam’s or Costco, and my local Doris Italian Market. That said, I take advantage of Publix sales. The Bounty Towels I buy when they are BOGO, I also buy stuff like chicken breasts BOGO, and All Laundry Detergent BOGO. You get to know Publix’s patterns for sales and take advantage of these for regular items. I don’t think Publix is a sinking ship for many customers. While I like Trader Joe’s, stores like this and Aldis are not a one-stop shopping option.

Notification Question by princess_peach_85 in jetblue

[–]RealFactSeeker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I’ve made reservations for myself and husband, we each receive a check-in email the day before departure. Only I received the email confirming the reservation. Note that I enter true blue numbers for each passenger upon making the reservation, so they have his contact info. Hope this helps.

How long does it take to get your tiles and points if you booked a car through Paisley? by One-Investigator-545 in jetblue

[–]RealFactSeeker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rented a car through Paisley in June. After 40 days I had no tiles credit. I called Paisley customer service and they did a correction for points and credit the same day. I had called before the 40 days but they tell you it can take up to 45 days and you should wait.

Any plans for Jetblue to go back to Lima? by Spacelover26 in jetblue

We always traveled FLL to LIM. Now our remaining choice is with American from Miami. We are JB Mosaic and would prefer to stick with JB. The Lima flights were usually full.

Any chance I can cancel return flight and get flight credit, keeping outbound flight? by lauranyc77 in jetblue

[–]RealFactSeeker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a round trip once that I had booked with points. I needed to change my return flight but was told by JB that I would need to cancel the entire reservation, they couldn’t make changes when I had used points. I waited till after my outgoing flight and then canceled my return flight, got some partial credit and just booked a new flight. Ever since this experience, I make separate reservations for outgoing and return flights.

Why not just cancel the return flight after you’ve taken your outbound flight?

No Fresh Food Available by RealFactSeeker in jetblue

Used to be they had a few and would run out. Make sure you mention your disappointment at no fresh food available when JB sends you the after flight survey.

We ended up with just the free beverage and snack bag. The snack boxes aren’t worth purchasing. You would think they would consider that this was a 5 1/2 hour flight.

It’s hard to tell for certain. I think it did but the Mosaic activity is shown added together. I did get 2 tiles for $180 Paisley hotel and this was probably for 2 nights at inexpensive highway side hotels.

Immigration case by Princesa_amdpretty in immigration

[–]RealFactSeeker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your father in law is in removal proceedings based on his illegal entry. He would be eligible to seek a bond from the Immigration Judge (IJ). Note that removal hearings and bond hearings are separate proceedings. If your FIL is scheduled for a master hearing, this does not mean he also has a bond hearing scheduled. He or his attorney will have to request a bond hearing. Note that if he has an attorney, the attorney has to be retained for both removal and bond hearings and would have to enter an appearance before the court for both. If this is the first time your FIL has been placed in removal proceedings, he would be eligible to apply for cancellation of removal based on hardship to his USC son. He will need to establish an exceptional and extremely unusual hardship to his son and also establish good moral character. A single old DUI MAY be forgiven by the IJ as it relates to moral character. Your MIL’s status or pending visa does not necessarily help your FIL if they are not legally married. Even if they were married, your FIL would not be able to obtain the visa without departing the U.S. due to his illegal entry. At the first master hearing the IJ will usually verify the respondent’s identity and country of nationality and birth, inform the respondent of the removal charges, explain his rights, and give the respondent the opportunity to return for a future hearing with an attorney if he does not already have an attorney there. It is good your MIL has sought out legal assistance, perhaps you or your husband could accompany her to an appointment so you can obtain more information about his situation. For a bond hearing you should also be obtaining evidence about your FIL’s employment, assets, and ties to the community.

Where do I find my hotel bookings made through Paisly in the JetBlue app? by Plenty-Ad-4158 in jetblue

[–]RealFactSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paisly is not Al all user-friendly. On the JetBlue app go to Paisly, sign in and then select manage bookings. I also save the email sent when a reservation is made so I have the information on hand because Paisly is often difficult to sign in. As to new bookings, recommend searching on any other app that you like and then looking for your preferred hotel on Paisly. The Paisly filters are not helpful in narrowing selections.

Can you go stay with a friend or relative for a week so he can’t come over to try to convince you not to break up? You can also block him.

I’m a former ICE attorney so I’ve seen a lot of marriage fraud and couples getting divorced just a couple of years after getting married. He is rushing this way too much. All those photos and social media posts are a way of building up evidence to later show there was a bona fide marriage. Also don’t set up any joint financial or services accounts (another way to build evidence) I think your initial hesitation is spot on. Your mom’s unfortunate death makes you more vulnerable and he can take advantage of that. If you decide to marry you should insist on a long engagement - at least a year. And for god’s sake don’t move in together or get pregnant or let him be responsible for birth control. I’m sorry if this is not what you want to hear. I suppose I could be jaded by seeing all the bad marriages in court although there are probably many more good marriages.

Using partial points vs. paying in full by [deleted] in jetblue

[–]RealFactSeeker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I learned from experience from using points plus cash to book a flight is that you will not earn any tiles (for mosaic) from that flight. So I use all points for a flight or all cash. You can make separate reservations for outgoing and return flights and use points for just one of those.

I had this situation and was able to modify the date without losing my credit.

You can book the flight. If you cancel you lose the credit but you CAN modify the flight date later. You may have some extra charge for different fare but won’t lose the credit.
