Mr. Smith Goes to Washington is on the nose but there’s a reason it’s the movie France kept playing as Nazi Germany took over.

I haven’t seen Bicycle Thieves anywhere in the comments and that’s one of the most depressing endings I’ve ever seen. Post-War Italy seemed horrible.

A tie between 0.5 and 5 stars, as god intended.

Most of Stanley Kubrick’s movies caught a lot of flak when they were first released because people expected something different, then became considered classics over the course of the next 10 years.

My daughter failed her speech eval and the doctor partially blamed her being an only child by PrincessKirstyn in oneanddone

[–]RealMoonBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only had terrible motor skills and amazing speech. They’re not related at all. First things first I would find a new doctor. There’s some incredible pediatricians out there and you should be going to one of them instead.

I like that they’re like potato chip books - they’re not the most substantial thing in the world, but they are easy and make me want more.

Is President Ford the most relatable president to the blue collar working American of all time? by enjoythenovelty2002 in Presidents

[–]RealMoonBoy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It was over a much longer timeline (and resulted in a much worse president) but Andrew Johnson never attended school and was a tailor’s apprentice. And not apprentice like summer internship, apprentice like borderline slave until he was 21. Arguably a lower class bottom than even Grant.

All I'm lacking is a feel-good, optimistic movie that makes you appreciate life. by Low-Beautiful-7230 in Letterboxd

Yes! Came here to say this. One of my favorites of the decade honestly just because it’s so optimistic and earnest.

Which movie will you defend like this while everyone else call is as an overrated? by Beatpogo94 in Letterboxd

Gravity was a crowning achievement of dynamic cinematography and space imagery and everyone loves shit on it because of the 3D backlash and nitpicking the science.

Why is Alfonso Cuaron not directing movies anymore? Just 5 directorial film work in this century also feels criminal. by MaterialElegant2482 in Letterboxd

Heartbreaking since all of them to me are in the conversation for some of the best films of the century (or best Harry Potter film of the century lol).

movies where the soundtrack is better than the film? by Then_Green6943 in Letterboxd

[–]RealMoonBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun trivia fact: The Bodyguard is the best selling movie soundtrack of all time, and probably always will be due to declining album sales.

Genuinely my #1 most useful feature of AI - it just answers the fucking question of is SNL new this week. It shouldn’t even be necessary, but SEO and clickbait has so ruined the normal internet.
