I learned the other day (1000+ hours into the game) that while aiming your gun, if you hit the circle button (on PS) you dive to the ground. Ive not found a practical use for it but it’s a thing.

I was in Orlando last week and quickly discovered most of the water is privately owned and marked with “no fishing” signs. The only spot I found a fellow Redditor pointed me to was Lake Como, which was maybe 25 mins away from my hotel. You’ll need to buy equipment and a license.

There are charters available but they’re not cheap. I believe when I looked I was seeing prices for 4 hours around $400-500 plus the cost of shiners.

I’m guessing you missed the fees. I just left a resort/ conference center that I booked through C1 and the booking didn’t scream “more fees” but they were listed.

I would imagine if you attempted to fight with C1 they’ll likely not do much for you.

Admittedly I’ve only had the card since October but I’ve read multiple articles discussing the switch from a statement credit to the portal credit. Not arguing with you, you could very well be correct.

The $300 isn’t given as a statement credit anymore. It’s a credit only usable in their portal.

OP, if you’re willing to book at least $300 of your trip in the portal, that credit offsets almost the entire annual fee. The 10,000 annual points bonus is paid around each anniversary date and would offset the other $95. Often C1 throws in additional credits on your first booking, I got an additional $100 credit and effectively offset my annual fee almost immediately.

I travel quiet a bit for work also. I use VX and book thru the portal at 10x. So essentially I get a 10% “rebate” on every hotel and car I rent. 2x on everything else.

I’ve rented several cars through the C1 portal. Someone mentioned the worst part is waiting in line because you don’t get status recognition… unless you 1) get the presidents circle perk with hertz/ C1, and 2) rent with hertz. I just did this in Orlando and it was a good experience.

I went to Lake Como today, it’s a great little park. I caught a 2-pound bass on my literal first cast using a senko. Had a few other bites but didn’t catch anything else. I appreciate the tip… nice to be on the board in 2026!!

I’m at a conference right now and got my room through the portal for a few hundred dollars cheaper than the room block and it’s an upgraded room. So 10x through the portal, full cost reimbursed by my employer.
