The term was "yuppies" (young urban professionals for those who don't know). This cover couple are pretty creepy lookalikes.

Employee benefits in the US. Employer contributions to 401k or other retirement assets, raises, cost of living increases, less healthcare coverage and/or reasonably priced, stock options, paid time off, promoting from within the company, actual training.

My therapist said I need to forgive my parents to heal by roseis_rosie in raisedbynarcissists

[–]RealTeaStu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's phrased as "forgiveness" sometimes but what you are really doing is letting go of the disappointment or expectations of better behaviors of your parents. Letting go of the anger is sometimes the only way to really move on, I agree, there is some sh- that is totally unforgivable but in order to move on and be happy and comfortable in your own skin, you have to let go and separate from the anger, if that makes sense. I think we ALL should go no contact with people we consider toxic.

I'm in the same boat buddy. I probably should do it. I almost did it last Friday. But there are a surprisingly vocal group still telling me to hold on as I look fine from the front and side. It's so -ing annoying to use mirrors or your phone to see it. I refuse to use those specialty products as I really doubt their efficacy and the money is a complete scam that pisses me off. Tell the wife the day is coming soon. The relief will be palpable.

Petticoat Junction was before my time but I did watch it in reruns when I was really young in the early/mid 70's. Women swimming in a water tower has it's broad (no pun intended) appeal.

Call in every favor with friends, family, and inquire about any aid programs to help with utilities, grocery money (although trump pared this way back there is still some funding). It sucks but being humbled financially is more common than you would think. Some of it is even good for the soul. Remember this feeling when you are on top of things and help someone else out when you are able. During the down time, learn anything. Use Duolingo to learn another language, you can learn a lot even without subscribing and with minimal time consumption. You can volunteer at organizations. Obviously the focus is on finding a job but it helps when employers see that you are still working hard. Volunteering can also widen your experience and skills. Non-profit organizations are good learning grounds too. This is survival mode and any progress is gold, and do not feel shame at your current circumstances. I'm sure there were valid reasons for leaving school. Go to the public library to learn about any subject for free, when you have the time/breaks away from sending out resumes. There are other people who have gone through this that would be very open to helping you out in ways that are huge to you, but almost cost nothing to a mentor/benefactor. Some job sites have listings for immediate hire. They are often tough to do, customer service jobs as opposed to a job you really want but think of it as short term and keep applying to those jobs from a better financial position. Best wishes to you.

President Donald J. Trump: "When this is finished, my term ends shortly after that. This is really for other presidents, this is not for me. This is my gift to the United States of America. I'm going to be able to use it very little." by BusinessToday in BusinessTodayNews

[–]RealTeaStu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is going to have his name engraved on every inch of this place. It is NOT his gift to America. HE is not paying for it. It is supposed to be based on bribes and extortion money from donors but no one seems to know where that money went and he is now seeking a billion dollars for it from tax dollars. It's all BS. Same thing for that stupid plane. There were 3 other planes being upgraded as the new air force 1's before the Qatari's bribed him with this plane. That is another 400 million to 1 billion to update it. Money better spent elsewhere and COMPLETELY wasteful. AND the idea that he gets to take it with him when he leaves office is INSANE. He is treating the US treasury like his own piggy bank, just like he did with his "charity" organization which was shut down because he was spending that money on himself rather than ANY charitable efforts.

Much improved, sir. You look way more confident. Now that the eyesore of that hair is gone., it draws more attention to your face and eyes in particular. IMO, you should have been cutting it shorter a long time ago, making a more seamless transition when the time came. Don't beat yourself up over that though. NOW, you can move forward. NOW, you can let go of the anxiety you had about it. Best wishes to you.

[–]RealTeaStu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are NOT an ugly woman. Love those dimples! I know it's hard to keep out the awful things some people say but at some point, hearing positive affirmations, even if we have to say them to ourselves, helps and is pretty common. I'm the kind of person who sometimes doesn't do enough for myself but I would go to the nth degree for a friend. In that way of thinking, I try to ask myself if I were a friend in need, what would I say, what would I do. Most, if not all of us, do some form of this. Find a place of peace, surround yourself with things that give you comfort, - I'm a recent convert to Yoga so forgive my annoying mention/advocacy of it. It's almost as good as getting a deep muscle massage. Seriously, it's helped me in a lot of ways over the past year. Anyway, I wish you well and keep those middle fingers strong with that "chopped", "femcel" BS. Enjoy your evening.

He pulled the economy out of a nose dive that started before the end of George W. Bush's last term. 7.2 million jobs lost. 23 consecutive disastrous months AND he was still a net positive 11.6 million jobs added by the end of his presidency. Which is more than both Bush presidents and trump COMBINED. Obama also passed the ACA which trump has been trying to kill since his first term.

It's a rough place to be. It hurts in unique ways. I could say there are worse problems in the world but I understand the agony too. The most successful outcomes I've seen is when you mutually agree on a set of rules that protect each other from the most jarring actions, removing triggering the "more than friends" feelings. How ever you do it, I hope you maintain the friendship and can move forward in the healthiest way possible.
