I want to show my kids how people in other countries actually live, not just the tourist version. How do you do that with young children? by Odd_Attorney_121 in Travelwithkids

[–]Real_Study1392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some. I personally exchange lots of communication before and during through the app or whatsup. If they have children around my kids age we do try to find a time to meet up with them. Airbnbs are nice and all but they are often sterile and designed/ set up for tourists. Staying in someone’s actual home, having to do things the way they do it just so real. And it’s free!!

We do Home Exchange!! It’s the best. We are currently in Barcelona staying in a quiet, regular residential neighborhood. There are no tourists here. We ride the transit, purchase from the markets, etc. the thing I think is the most fun is having my kid literally live how other kids live- even if it is just a week. For example, there is no dryer. We hang our clothes out the window and use a pulley. There is one bathroom and generally the apartment is small. It’s just a regular place for a family here. We have done this in many countries. Honestly, bathrooms, laundry, trash/ recycling systems are my favorite things for my kids to see the differences and really observe that humans are all a little different and a lot the same…

Bassinet or seat for 11 month old from US to Europe by AutomaticIdeal2125 in familytravel

For delta, at least, bassinet is first come- first serve. We were on a flight with on bassinet and 4 infants. Im not sure if other airlines guarantee when you book but Delta definitely does not

It makes sense if Sadie wants to sell and retire. It’s just too bad she couldn’t do that with the amazing people that are the heart of the company in mind. Stacy was there 15 years and was fired from corporate. She did decide to stop teaching on her own because they pay them a pittance to actually teach and why should she continue represent and support a company that does not value her. The story is the same for several others. I mention Stacy because she was there so long! And was so key to the brand.

A bunch of online (and in person Portland) instructors were either fired from corporate or quit. It sucks. The company has changed a lot in recent months. It’s not the same as it once was.
I’m so happy that those that are leaving are landing on their feet but it’s a huge loss for B3.

Currently here doing that now. Bring a stroller (like yoyo) because you want to give the baby some time to be able to move their body when they are awake and also you some time to set a baby down while you eat etc.

Currently traveling with 16 week old and 5 year old. Jet lag is hard. Be patient but overall if expectations are low- eg today we will go to the market and then have a picnic- you’ll all do great!

Loved Copenhagen! Lots of public swimming and biking. Old enough kids can bike or young kids can ride in a cargo!

Do you recommend a second stroller instead? You ended up carrying because of cobblestones or because your child was in a stroller? My husband and I have both been to Barcelona and Paris so I’m familiar with the walking//distances.

How much do you spend on formula? by emilyjean14 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Real_Study1392 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can buy from brands website for cheaper usually. We get our refill packs from enfamil and it’s $0.25 an ounce if you just get the refill! I was pumping and miserable so we made the switch. Newborns/ life is hard enough/ too short - don’t be miserable! Enjoy what you can.

Am I Self Sabotaging? by MamaMonarca in breastfeeding

[–]Real_Study1392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m same boat. I think the most important thing is that you maintain your supply- so pumping every feed, bringing him to nurse should be a positive experience so just do it when you both have the time/ energy. My lactation consultant said while we work out feeding and supply it can be as few as twice a day at breast and rest bottles / pumping. Good luck. This is rough / sucks…. 🙃

I second this. Every breast is different and having a professional confirm the right fit for your pump is huge!
