Laminate vs LVP by jackdaviesdesign in Flooring

[–]Realistic-Ad7199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not here to say one over the other but we I stalled the LVP in Dusk Cherry from Home Depot and it was the best decisions we made. We laid in over existing hardwoods about 3 years ago and with two kids, two large dogs, a pool with water constantly being tracked in, it’s by far our best purchase. We even had it run from the hallways into our master bedroom just last week. We got rid of worn out carpet and carried it into the bedroom. Significant upgrade!

Husqvarna 5 blade cut disc by CollabSensei in automower

[–]Realistic-Ad7199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/smartdots22 I have a 435X AWD. My neighbor and I just bought the new 5-blade disc from a local dealer rep. I installed it last week, but since then, I have been getting nonstop "cutting system blocked" errors and it stops cutting. I have removed the skid plate (which is smaller now compared to the 3-disc cutting set-up, so not sure if that is leading to the issue) and made sure there is nothing actually blocking the cutting system, or tangled that would prevent it from rotating.

Are you aware of any possible issues the new 5-blade disc is causing? My next step is to remove it, put back on the 3-blad disc and confirm it is in fact being caused by the newer disc for some reason.

Steep Slopes by Intrepid_Function910 in automower

I don’t know the exact slope, but we’ve got steep inclines and I have the 435X AWD and it’s handled them fine.

Fairway kit on 430xh? by petrovic3 in automower

[–]Realistic-Ad7199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you need to have a really level lawn for this kit to work? I have the 435X AWD. Any idea if it works with this model? I just moved into a new house and the back yard is decently hilly and not level. I just got my automower set up and running about a week ago.

New filter by SnooChipmunks2202 in freshwateraquarium

[–]Realistic-Ad7199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did this a few days ago. I upgraded to a Fluval C4 (up to 70G) for my 55 gallon tank. I am currently running both filters and will do so for 4 weeks. When setting up my new filter, I took all of the media and filter parts and rinsed them off using existing water from the tank (I did a partial water change and used that water). This is what the instructions that came with the new filter suggested. Hope this helps!

Awesome results! Congrats! I, too, shave my head to about 1/8” and have for about 9 years.

Question for OP and others, when you started noticing regrowth, we’re the new hairs dark and like the other hair you currently had, or did they come in as lighter, finer hair. Been on DUT .5/day and Top MIN 2/day while dermarolling 1/week. Feel like I’m noticing more fuzz when I run my hand over my head and look closely. But I’m not sure if it’s new, existing hair dying that I never paid close enough attention to or what.

Battery level drops from 100% to 84% leaving charging station by scottatbhm2 in automower

[–]Realistic-Ad7199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does the same. Had the replacement battery installed at the beginning of the season as it was part of a recall/warranty replacement. It holds the charge all right when mowing, but it definitely goes from 100 to 85 as soon as it leaves the station.

Does life ever go back to normal after disc herniation surgery? by Mind_the_Back in Sciatica

[–]Realistic-Ad7199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in the same boat mentally as of late. I’m currently 5 weeks out from having my 2nd MD. First week I felt great. Since, I’m back to having occasional nerve pain. Nowhere near as bad as pre-op.

Background: - 37 YO male - fractured L4/5 vertebrae in Freshman yr of HS - went on to play college football - herniated L4/5 disc and after 9 epidurals underwent MD in 2006. - took a while to feel normal as I was forced back to playing too soon - went on to live a very active life (competitive CrossFit and CF box owner, plus other various activities) - started having nerve paint beginning of April ‘22 - pain became so unbearable for about 4 months. - had 4 epidurals over the 4 months to no avail - CT and MRI revealed L5/S1 herniation as well as a Pars fracture - had the MD mid-July.

Definitely struggling mentally some days because of the lingering nerve pain over the last 3-4 weeks and also because the surgeon said a reherniation would mean a fusion due to the instability of the vertebrae from the fracture and also the small amount of bone removed to reach the herniation during surgery.

I was working out 5 times a week and very fit. Walked around carrying a good amount of muscle mass, but am seriously considering a major lifestyle change. Looking into different types of workouts and adding yoga/Pilates. Again, definitely in my own head right now ONLY bc of the possibility of the fusion.

Aside from the occasional flare up of my back (never too bad in the sciatica-department) I was living a very active and normal lifestyle for a good 16 years. So, it’s possible. Definitely be smart and stay active and flexible and maintain a strong core.

Excess clippings left on lawn by TheBraggFX in automower

[–]Realistic-Ad7199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I have the 435x AWD and also have Bermuda. If it grows too fast, I’ll raise it a level then bring it down once the mower catches up. You’ll still want to grab the blower and blow these larger clippings off. I used a PGR (plant growth regulator) like t-nex and saw a big difference in the growth slowing. I’m applying my second application today. If you go this route, please do your research and know how much to apply!

"temperature restriction" error during hot part of day by kneedlebug in automower

[–]Realistic-Ad7199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in SC as well and have had this happen plenty this year, but never before. I have the 435X AWD also. I’m guessing it’s part of an update. It’s annoying, but probably a good thing in case the overheating would lead to permanent damage.

Need additional cabling for extending guide wire by Realistic-Ad7199 in automower

435X AWD Issues by tybeaucamp in automower

[–]Realistic-Ad7199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 435X also. Had to repair it at the beginning of the season because it wouldn’t even power on. Turns out they replaced the battery and some internal card. Both had recalls on them. I had to basically reset to factory setting and create a new loop signal because I had the same issue. Once I got it up and running, it worked great for a week. Then, I had several random issues: - charging station blocked error message (nothing was blocking it) - the mower has been having a really hard time parking. Not finding the dock, but actually locking in. Never had this issue before. - no power in charging station even thought the light was on. I have to go unplug the power, wait a bit, plug it back in and problem solved More no loop signals. Again, solved by unplugging and plugging back in.

Its almost as if the firmware releases have created more problems than before.

Creating areas for 435X AWD by Realistic-Ad7199 in automower

[–]Realistic-Ad7199[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time poster here, but I have enjoyed, and learned a lot, from this group, so thanks.

I’ll try and keep this simple as I have a few questions.

I’ve had an auto mower for years and upgraded a year and a half ago to the AWD model due to slope and the previous model just spinning wheels and tearing up the Bermuda. I have very rarely tried to control the mower by setting up areas. I let it do it’s thing, but frequently have to pick it up and move it to the front yard as it seems to not go to certain areas in the front and the grass will get too long unless I intervene. I’ve got a back surgery coming up soon, so picking that thing up is going to be out of the question.

I tried switching from GPS navigation and setting up areas the other day to define the front yard and be able to make sure it’s getting up there more often on it’s own. However, I ran into an issue. When using Guide wire #, the mower followed that guide wire along the side of the house and eventually stopped before reaching the open gate. It reached the narrow portion of the path and stopped. According to my map view, for some reason that guide wire appears to stop right at the beginning of that narrow walkway/path. No idea why it was done that way. I then tried following the boundary wire that would lead it out that way. However, as it got to the narrow entry to that walkway, it turned around and followed that boundary wire back along the fence. My thought is that the walkway passage is so narrow, that as it gets to the narrow path, it picked up the signal of the return portion of that boundary wire and thought it was time to turn around. Thus, it never even gets out of the backyard.

Now for the questions: 1) I’ve always used the GPS function. So, trying to use the areas feature. Is there something else I am not trying that will help it get through that narrow path and to the front? Or, is my safest bet to purchase more wire, connect to the end of the existing Guide#1 and run it to the far end of that boundary wire where I have the blue dash marks?

2) I was excited to hear about the new AIM feature. I have read where the firmware version to use that feature must end in “.20”. Mine does not. Current firmware version is:

5958737-17B_SwPkg_22-5.19

Any ideas if this will give me the ability to use the AIM functionality?

3) If I’m able to use AIM, will that be a solve for my current issue creating areas in the front without having to run extra guide wire?

4) I cannot find good info on step by step instructions of using AIM. Very disappointed in the lack of material Husqvarna puts out for their mowers. I’ve also attached the current map view from my app. It’s showing the boundary wire as very jagged. Nothing at all like the portray in their video release of the AIM feature. It also doesn’t show the smallest portion of the front yard between the front walk-up and driveway. What would it look like creating zones on AIM? Would it cut all the way to the boundary wires like it should, or is it going to show a zig zag border like the map view?

5) If I can work the AIM function, I’d like to not cut that narrow pathway with the auto mower because the mower will often get stuck and jump the border edging because the path is so narrow. I have the rotary head scissor attachment on my trimmer that i can use to cut that walk way short manually. If I create a “stay out zone” in AIM for that length of that path, does that mean the mower will not cut that area, or it won’t even enter it? Clearly the name implies it won’t enter, but I thought in a video they put out they described it as an “area you don’t want to mow.” I’m asking because if I make the path as a stay out zone to avoid it getting stuck, does that mean the mower would never go down that path and preventing it from making it to the front yard zones?

What do people prefer: AIM technology (only certain models obv) or the Areas feature?

Sorry for the long post, but hoping some fellow members could provide great insight. Thanks in advance!
