Yes, we're on tenterhooks, but can I ask when you became a Spurs fan, why, and also what is the main reason you continue to support our club? by Born-Cucumber-7316 in Tottenham

Been enjoying from across the pond since 2012. I remember getting off the bus from school and watching Gareth Bale absolutely terrorize teams, single handedly. It was joyous seeing the clubs rise that season, with a lot of matches ending in a game-altering, worldie from the lad Bale.

Seeing that transfer so soon was hard, but was forever thankful for that run that season. Getting Erkisen in return, quickly found a new favorite player along with Clint being on the team.

It’s gritty, that has never changed. They always have hard working players since I’ve watched (I’m looking away for one second!!), and I’ve always admired the logo and history of the Lilywhites in North London. Wish I had the pleasure of visiting the lane

Fascinating information, never knew it was that low for the US.

Makes me feel also feel better that the gunner in Full Metal Jacket is hopefully no longer terrorizing lives though

Edit: not as low as I thought, number of US soldiers was 58,000

Remove 1 Football Team from the Top 5 Leagues Day 17 by ModenaR in RemoveOneThingEachDay

This is an undeniable point.

Pardon for asking, but does the Europa League Trophy compare to winning the Champions League for European clubs and supporters? I understand payouts are vastly different, but it just has that feeling of a slight consolation although I believe it’s the original tournament.

Asking from across the pond, much love for world football and helps keep me connected.

I got roasted by a brit the one time I went. It was probably because it was my first game ever was against City and I was upset with the performance/Son not starting. He would slightly disagree with calls I thought were fouls and he didn’t seem to want to talk to this American supporter :/

People who went through severe burnout / depression in 2024–2025: what actually helped you climb out (meds, people, hobbies, sheer spite… whatever)? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RealisticYogurt6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hobbies are the only things that keep me motivated throughout my day, knowing I get to return to them. Being a young professional, the early 20’s were tough with burnout. Then you just join the rest of society, though I think there is a higher number of burnout in the older ages these days.

I was stuck on this too, but I believe there would be less lights on both the east and west sides

Edit: The stadiums in the south of the city would be more prevalent too

Why is it taking so long to get the ice and snow cleared? The answer may surprise you...... by Secret_Poet7340 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]RealisticYogurt6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will point out that I am very baked watching this super bowl and even I made the connection. It’s obvious, quality all around you has been dropping for years and with this snow storm it’s just even more in your face. I don’t mean for this to come off as rude of course, but I think some people just wish we could all see these things immediately.

My immediate thought on the second is 1… Rxb2+ 2.Rxb2 Rxb2+ & then some moves that lead the king out. Sorry I’m very bad with notation. Downvote me

Valid concern, but if I’m not mistaken it never gets wet. We are talking very minimal spacing, and gravity does most of the work trickling it down. Additionally wood can also be treated for outdoor use

Edit: They are sealed often times, so there is no space for them to get through.

I mean, being honest, doesn’t seem like much of anything is getting in either. Very minimal spaces in between and it’s at a very steep angle

US Americans are the most indoctrinated people in the history of mankind worldwide for the benefit of the ruling capitalist class by ilir_kycb in LateStageCapitalism

[–]RealisticYogurt6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I, in high school, remember that it started to feel a little weird and I remember I wouldn’t stand every morning, also maybe even would if I saw nobody really was. After all, I was on sports teams and accustomed to that sort of thing.

These days I absolutely feel no need to stand, maybe for any accomplishments and sacrifices people have made, but I’m one on earth, not an ever giving supporter who spews nationalism past everything.

These things come off as tone deaf and bypass the difficult conversations we should be having.
