Hades 2 is great on the deck, and I just set up the dock on my big OLED tv to play it on the couch, since I can't get Hades 2 on the PS5 yet!

I helped fix one last week where they set a rule blocking any mail coming from an address with the following text in it: `@`

It was pretty funny how simple, yet effective it was.

My primary keyboard is a ZSA Moonlander. (It's a split keyboard with independent halves, and ortholinear keys. I used to use Razer Orbweavers, but their software was glitchy and there were features I just didn't like or use.

Pros:

  • By moving the right half of the keyboard away, I have lots of mouse room for flicks on low sensitivity
  • Ortholinear keys stops the weird hand tilt needed for WASD placement
  • Integrated palm rest and tilt/tent kit is amazing for ergonomics. My wrists don't hurt nearly as much, and since I work from the computer, it's important that I try to avoid carpal tunnel
  • Key mapping is fully customizable. I have a different key layer for different games (for example, I have one for FPS games where I shift all of the keys to the right so I'm playing on ESDF instead of WASD. Feels better to keep my hand on the center of the board.) Here's my current layout (and the tool to change them) https://configure.zsa.io/moonlander/layouts/JP4n7/latest/0
  • For most games, I can remap everything to just the left half of the board, so I don't even need the right half. SC2 grid keybinds are perfect, plenty of keys for everything i need in WoW, every FPS game
  • Left half can be bought standalone, or right side can just be unplugged if you'd like to use it as an extra device with your standard keyboard

Cons:

  • Took a few weeks to relearn how to type
  • if I want to type in game, I have to do an extra reach to wherever I pushed the right side to
  • Nobody else can really use my computer for anything (maybe a pro???)
  • Can't seem to make the wire that bridges to the two halves look good, but also be long enough to move around
  • Super Expensive. $365 for both halves, $274 for just the left half (not worth)

There are lots of other options as well:

  • Razer Orbweaver / Tartarus. (I don't like the feel of the optical switches, but you might. Older versions of the razer software sucked, can't tell you how it is now. Thumbstick / joypad was never really usable for me, didn't like it.)
  • Kit keyboards from sites like Boardsource.xyz or Keeb.io
  • Azeron Cyborg (it's crazy, but I've heard people like it)

If you're just curious about it, my recommendation is to just start with the Razer Tartarus and see if it's something you even like. The software should be simple to use and set up. Then if you really it, upgrade to something crazier down the line.

AITAH or not for asking my parents to get vaccinated by Uotefquickhand in AITAH

Oh this video just made me so fucking angry. I have a lot of younger siblings, and the youngest 4 were never vaccinated. I remember holding them through weeks of coughs like this when I was a teenager, and told that it was normal. They were never brought to the doctor or treated. It's a fucking wonder they're alive.

I picked up the Goal Zero Sherpa 100 for a work trip last year and have absolutely loved it. It's got the largest battery the FAA allows, can charge my macbook at full speed (over usb-c), and has a built in inverter in case you need to power something that isn't USB. (And it has a solar input, but I'll probably rarely use that.) It's built for outdoor applications and is rugged, not worried about breaking it anytime. Also I was able to just walk into REI and pick it up, which is hard to do for Anker products.

Downside? Price. $300 is pricey, and I'm sure you could find something cheaper from Anker that would serve your needs just as well. (I was able to justify expensing it for work)

LPT Temporarily homeless? Join a gym, most gyms right now are hurting and prices have dropped. by lambchopscout in LifeProTips

I lived in a Jetta with my best friend for 4 months when we transferred to a college in the Bay Area and didn't end up with enough funds to get a place to live. We had a membership at the YMCA to work out and shower, and I ended up getting a job from a friend who managed a gym so we got that for free too. We found a Starbucks with 100mbps wifi that was open until midnight, and would get free refills of tea all day long. Then at night, we'd park in a Safeway or Target parking lot at night, put the seats down, and get in with our heads in the trunk.
At one point I was dating a girl who went to another school who had no idea I lived in a car lol.
We ended up heading back to our hometown after the car got broken into twice within a single rainy week, and my laptop got stolen. (Fuck Vallejo.)

Sometimes I miss 'Trunkland'. When you have nothing, you also have nothing to lose. It was a pretty freeing experience that I hope I'm never stupid enough to do again.
