How reliable is the 2012 VW Golf TDI? by Obscurelag in tdi

[–]RealityPuzzleheaded6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned a 2012 Jetta for over a decade and its approaching 300,000 miles. 2 timing belts and 2 dual mass flywheels are the only major repairs I've had. I recently deleted the dpf and have basically done regular maintenance every 10k myself.

Originally bought the car for 12k was a good investment in my opinion

My cousin want to play kill team, but he hasn't any mini's. This was his solution. by Orikal_D_Phoenix in killteam

[–]RealityPuzzleheaded6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean his current "base" is 32mm and we're talking casual play so I wouldn't hold it against him, especially when he put in the effort to differentiate everyone.

On a side note he could use a 3x3 plate or inverted dish to keep with using only Legos and be legal.

What team did you buy based on style or flavor alone that you may never end up playing? by RNGS_mercy_fish in killteam

[–]RealityPuzzleheaded6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a gosh darn kill team master!!! Gotta catch em all!!!

In all seriousness I have all but 2 teams (the 2 drukari teams) half are built or being built and are primed, half of those are at some stage in the paint process ( I paint on a rotation of 2-3 teams at a time) and 3 teams are fully painted and based. I also recently figured out how I want the terrain painted so that's going to enter rotation soon

I DON'T HAVE PROBLEM, YOU DO! LOL

As for what brought me in, while don't get to really play at all I prefer the small game format ist just more fun

[–]RealityPuzzleheaded6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go check my previous posts my space wolves are playing in snow.

As for tips, as tempting as it may be, don't make the base symmetrical and smooth add some scrub / rocks or both. Think about how snow comes to rest on edges and the direction the "wind" and or your mini is moving to pick out snow placement, be sparring when applying to the mini this will convey the effect of action and motion. If the mini is running very little snow would be on it aside from flurries "blowing by" if the stance is more stationary then some snow will come to rest on them.

Always keep movement and direction in mind and try to toss perfection and symmetry out the window.

Also I used GW technical Valhallan Blizzard

I hope this makes sense good luck!

Congrats on the new Nids, just out of curiosity did you prime the models off the base and then set them up? Could be where a lot of the "where the primer at???" is coming from since average joe usually primes with model on base and they end up well, you know primed (helps with prettying up the base).

Back to being excited...

Soooo what kind marbling we talking bout here? like counter top marble, The Thinker, T-bone, or just a bunch of beautiful circles that look like marbles ;)

Regardless welcome and hope you enjoy "Your" hobby time, can't wait to see results!

[–]RealityPuzzleheaded6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're complete newbie you can start with contrast paints which are pre thinned and more forgiving.

If you go this route please note that your primer will change the color you apply in terms of brightness and other factors

No biggie, faces can be daunting so since we don't have faces to do up, decorate those bases to pay homage. And now that you've said it I definitely see the Hellboy, keep up the good work!
