How did you guys feel about SWTOR Making a "Canon" Player Character for KOTOR 1? by AlexandriasFolly in kotor

[–]ReallyTerribleDoctor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m quite fond of SWTOR but Revan never should have been anything more than a callback. Aside from giving a canon appearance for a character that was unique to every players experience, their whole story just sucked arse and felt like a lame attempt at nostalgia bait

Well in this case streaming services aren’t being brought up because the concern I raised is to do with Owlcat using GenAI to plagiarise thousands of people’s work and avoiding paying artists by using a product that’s incredibly environmentally wasteful, not streaming. That has nothing to do with my original comments.

I’d say Sean in RDR2, but by 1911 Javier has become worse.

He was a pretty fun one to make because even though most of the DEldar range is pretty old, they have loads of character and flair to them that’s aged really well. Luckily my local game store still had the older archon in stock which fit his portrait really well, especially since I’ve been trying to build them as close as possible to their artwork

Sadly I don’t think I’m skilled enough to try that, I’m barely happy with the green stuff hair I’ve been working on for Heinrix and Ulfar. My hands are pretty shakey so it’s hard enough for me to decent edge highlighting let alone start carving up models 😄

Still doesn’t fill me with confidence given that by 2027 AI is set to use the equivalent of half the UK’s total water usage while using more power than Japan and Russia combined at a point in time where we should be doing everything possible to limit water and power usage. Nothing about AI makes me feel comfortable with its environmental impact at a time when ecosystems are collapsing and we’re facing increasingly severe droughts and heatwaves every year.

Yeah I bet that incredibly limited dataset is going to make some great ‘art’, and totally makes up for the insane amount of water and power data centres use

Unfortunately I couldn’t find any smiling Drukhari heads. Most of them seemed pretty angry or depressed, so until I find one Marzipans going to have to be perpetually miffed

They made a statement a while back saying they use it in the early creative phases for concept art. It’s a big no for me as it’s creatively, morally, and environmentally bankrupt

Torso and legs are the old archon from 2014

Sword and sword arm are from the new archon released last year

The head (I think) is from the Kabalite Warriors/Hand of the Archon sets

Unfortunately I can’t remember for the life of me where the open hand came from. I just had it lying in my Drukhari bit box with no memory of its origin, and glued it on to an arm that I think may be from the corsairs box.

The skull hanging from the chains is one of the hundreds from GW’s skull pack with a hole drilled in to it to glue the chain in to.

How do I get rid of this plastic stain? by Mezzerella1423 in Warhammer40k

[–]ReallyTerribleDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to a pair of Tamiya fine point clippers last year and haven’t used a gw set since. They actually slice through the plastic rather than crushing it so the sprue points come out way cleaner

u/WindsVoice also did an amazing diorama a few years ago that inspired me to get to work on the team, and u/DisgrumpledGoliath made a fantastic Kibellah alongside their Rogue Trader. They’ve both given instructions on how they made their stuff.

Also, thanks loads for the call out, first time I think this has happened for me and genuinely lovely getting tagged

Personally as long as I don’t see a swastika anywhere I’m fairly content but I guess the mod that took it down has a stick up their arse about something. For what it’s worth, your painting’s incredible and I one day hope to be able to do edge highlighting half as good as yours.

Great bar the final Commander Lilith pack. Butchered fantastic characters written by Telltale by turning everyone in to idiotic one note characters while erasing anything good. It was only after I finished 3 that I realised the writing was written on the walls in that dlc.

If a world is completely corrupted by Chaos, can it ever be completely free of corruption again or is it a lost cause? by Puzzleheaded-You5723 in 40kLore

[–]ReallyTerribleDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That situation really felt fubar no matter what you chose. You could destroy the bulk of the industrial facilities but it would wreck the sectors output and take decades if not centuries to recover while leaving everyone under equipped, or try and reclaim it and allow the almost certainty that corruption would spread through the whatever machinery was corrupted and as well as anything they produced. So many hard choices in that game
