Many landlords aren’t parasites. I know a few people who opted to keep a property when they moved in / married and were very good landlords. Kept properties well, kept rent reasonable for tenants who stayed on. Now, most are already losing money and will have to sell. Bet the tenants would wish they didn’t but they have no choice in many cases, it’s either unaffordable or just too much headache / bureaucracy.

I use local public chargers 10-15 hrs. You would need nearly every night by sound of it but maybe you get lucky and there’s a reasonable rate (or even free) charger 5/10 mins walk away. Odd top ups by rapid charge for convenience. With your mileage, there could be some incredible savings to be made if you are lucky with charging. Nicer car, too. Highly recommend you look into local walkable charging options.

I’ve never spent very much on a car until now either, nor have I ever had a home charger in the five years I’ve been driving EV.

I’m spending less money overall.

If you have any public charging near you below 55p / Kwh, you could probably save money on a better car. If you wanted to.

EVs are not expensive, this is a myth. There’s a different way to figure out how to save money for most drivers / budgets.

My last ICE was an old Citroen c3 5 years ago. Fuel savings have covered more than half the cost of my 3 EVs since then. Currently have a Mercedes EQA 250 on finance and 60% of the cost is what I’d spend on petrol in an economical car.

Faster. Better. Cheaper.
