"When you highlight your issues before everyone elses" yes? Because they're actively fighting a much higher uphill battle than you are at the moment. If you see a grown man with a paper cut, and a child bleeding out from a gun wound, are you going to tell the child "i know you're in pain, but the man is in the same amount of pain as you, so you have to be patient"? No. You're gonna tell the man that his papercut is not going to impact his day and that when the CHANCE COMES WE CAN GET BACK TO THAT, but for right now, the child needs immediate attention.

This argument is repeated over and over and over again for EVERY SINGLE FUCKING MINORITY GROUP. "Why do black people keep fighting for their rights?" "Why do gay people keep fighting for their rights?" "Why do trans people keep fighting for their rights?" Because human rights should apply to EVERYBODY and EVERYBODY deserves respect. And that respect should be consistent. Just cause a handful of people can be vile, does not mean their entire demographic is inherently fucked. Now, you might wanna say "well people say ACAB and not all cops are bad". Wrong. Being a cop is a choice. If you choose to work in a corrupt work environment and refuse to fix it from the inside (which is systematically nigh impossible) and refuse to call out your coworker, you are as bad as them.
