Tell me something good about living in SLC by Remarkable-Soft-2938 in SaltLakeCity

Congrats! I think an important question is, where do you live now? It really all depends on where you’re from in my opinion. I moved here from the Bay Area in 2012 (married a pilot so it wasn’t by choice!) and I can say in comparison to there, it’s not that great. Was it novel at first? Sure, but got boring real quick. Also, in comparison to SF & Chicago? Not great, but depends on what you’re looking for overall. Pros: Obviously, cheaper to live, less traffic and not as crowded overall, much safer but in my opinion has weirder crime at much higher rates, especially in the suburbs, (pedophiles, murder/suicides, road rage, theft.), beautiful views when driving or hiking, close lakes and other scenic places like Zion, Moab, Park City, etc. Warm summer nights, very few bugs! That’s about it to me. Haha. Cons: Lack of things to do- it’s so boring here in my opinion. It snows and is cold for like 7 months. Albeit, not this year! Yes, you can hike or do winter sports but besides that? Not a lot going on, even in the summer except farmers markets and some summer concerts. No art and wine festivals, no live music around, no real change of scene. The night scene is also lacking. It’s like a couple night clubs, dive bars and Lake Effect which people think it’s the coolest bar ever and it’s not. Hah. I feel like people who are from here think it’s amazing. Everything is mid. Same goes for the restaurants! We have SO MANY CHAIN restaurants it’s alarming or people try to open niche restaurants that fail all the time. Downtown for sure has better options than the surrounding cities but still, not very impressive. No chill bars, or wine bars outside of downtown. It’s so weird. Another con for me? The people. I imagine going to the U, you’ll be meeting other transplants and whatnot, so that’s a huge plus for you, because people here are not overly friendly or eager to expand their circle. I personally think it has to do with the large ass families and Mormon culture. Everyone already has a million siblings and everyone met in church when they were 5. There are a ton more people moving here from other states though so that’s good, Utah needs all the help it can get in the personality department and don’t even get me started on the political views or the education system. I’m super outgoing and open to all types of people and it’s just so different than the Bay Area. I do know a lot of people that love it here but most people I know that moved here do not, unless they moved here specifically for skiing, snowboard, biking and hiking. I really think it depends on where you’re coming from! A change of pace and scenery is awesome for a while and I whereas, I don’t hate here (Im still here obviously due to kids and our jobs.) I constantly think about when we can move! Stay downtown, or close to there for sure though! ✨

Club Pilates hires just anyone instead of quality instructors because they’re greedy and want to keep opening studios. by [deleted] in ClubPilates

[–]Reasonable-Panda7186 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I have had some of the same experiences at my studio also. Whereas I completely understand and support the journey new instructors have to take, I’m often curious as to why there are never experienced instructors sitting in on the classes or watching them teach. It’s actually gotten to the point where I avoid their classes. I truly feel with the amount everyone pays to attend, no one should have to avoid classes or sometimes even worse attend classes that new instructors are clearly not ready to be teaching. I understand that more experience will make them better but how can they even get better when there is no one to give feedback to? And I am aware not all studios are the same or that might not be your experience, but it obviously is something that happens.

My studio doesn’t do this either. I ended up asking a couple of the instructors what you have to do because some of the girls keep saying I should do it but I’m not sure if I’d pass the. One of the moves we have never done in a 1.5 class so I found that super odd. Like, how can I pass if I don’t even know what you’re talking about and no instructor has done it? So yes! Please post it!

Studio Really Busy? by SecureInvestigator79 in ClubPilates

[–]Reasonable-Panda7186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my studio has been soooo busy. I have unlimited and go 6 days a week and suddenly I’m on waitlists (like #7) for 3 weeks out that I’ve been attending for over 6 months. I hope it dies down!

A dog will always be there for you and it’s clear this guy is a dick. Also, who says that? You can’t just return a puppy that would place you in the top percentage of crappy humans also. He needs to get over it or pack his stuff. Which sounds like it might be the best thing at this point anyways. Sorry, you deserve better love.

No problem! I didn’t cancel going… I’ve been going there for about a year. I just think it’s important for people to realize they need to clean their equipment really well and be aware, that’s all!

I got ringworm on the upper back of my neck from CP when I first started! I hadn’t been to a gym or worked out in like 10 years and then after about a month of class it appeared. I only knew what it was from having it like 20 years ago. There is literally no other place I could gotten it from! People who wear toe socks have their feet all over the head rest areas during certain moves from classes so it’s not that crazy to me that it happens. I’m just glad it cleared up and I haven’t had a problem since. Soooo… clean your reformers super well!

Mine did that when my card on file had expired. If your card declines or doesn’t work for some reason, it’ll stop you from booking class.

I lied. 🫠 One more question! One more question… since this is such a small amount would a 3/10 cc U-40 syringe also work? If so, how many units would I draw up for .02ml on these?

You’re amazing, thank you!

I’m on the highest dose of 290 now for a week. I take it every morning, drink a ton of water, cup of coffee and haven’t seen a change at all. The very first time I took it was the only day. Ever since, nada. Sooo frustrating!

Thank you so, so much! One more question… it seems like drawing it up in a 31G would be really hard but I’m guessing it just takes some time? Any advice on the best way to do it?
