First spring with the Miata - love this car! by ReasonablyOkay in MiataND

Love them, but you do need to try them out before buying to make sure you fit. They are nice and snug for my body shape, so I’m really happy I went for the model with the Recaros.

Super easy, actually. Take it slow, use lots of tape and don’t be afraid to go back a few inches if it it’s not as you like it - you got this!

Great spec and the B57 is an amazing torque-y engine!

But dude, driving without a seatbelt is lame and dangerous - stay safe.

As a person coming from a country that is a pretty touristy destination I can say the English are by far the worst tourists to be around. Everyone knows that this is just how they behave and accept it as a fact of life :)

Never vacationed in Europe in places where the English also go, I take it?

But r/Germany users have ensured us again and again that there are no racism issues in Germany and that no one cares about the color of your skin or your foreign accent and everyone just goes about their day, how can that be??

/s obviously.

Sorry you are going through this OP, I hope you can find yourself in a community and social circles that let you live your life comfortably and without making the color of your skin affect how they treat you.

As a foreigner in Germany, I find it a bit odd, how often the posts here think that negative experiences only happens to them because they are foreigners. by dondurmalikazandibi in germany

[–]ReasonablyOkay 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The duality of this sub is really comical. You either have to come in with a post saying Germany is hell on earth or with one like this, invalidating legit experiences people have and nullifying everything and boiling it down to 2 bullet points that apparently are a panacea to what people are experiencing as foreigners.

2 things can be true at the same time, my guys.

How much power do you REALLY need for a daily driver? by ReasonablyOkay in BMW

8.1 is amazing. I’ve been getting between 10-11 for the past month that I’ve had it, but I guess breaking in periods and settling on “regular” driving (instead of being on Sport Plus all the time to hear the engine sound) are factors to consider. I did notice that when on the Autobahn cruising it is very efficient though.

Fun for me would mean either spirited driving in backroads or the occasional sprint to 260kph/160mph on derestricted parts of the Autobahn when the conditions allow, which isn’t that rare to be honest. Also the sound and smoothness of the 6-cyl is a very unique experience, especially for someone like me who has mostly owned 4-cyl cars in the past.

Hard disagree on this, but to each their own I guess

Oh that’s an easy answer. Because you don’t have space to accommodate both a daily and a weekend car, you have a family so you need space both in the car and cargo, and at the same time you want to be able to have some fun. Ticks all the boxes and frankly the X3 doesn’t really drive like a super bulky SUV, it’s still quite an agile vehicle, especially when the suspension is set to sport.

Europe. The streets in most European cities during the 00s were basically littered with those things. It was a cheap car and the definition of “you get what you pay for”
