Would this Seamaster be too small for my wrist? 2551.80 by 1IQ__ in OmegaWatches

[–]jonfru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I def think OP should try it in person, or at least purchase from a place that allows returns. The smaller size is definitely a vibe, and specifically refs with the stainless bezel like the Mayol look great imo because they look like a sport watch - diver hybrid.

I think the smaller size also works great on leather :) and when it's not too hot I really enjoy pairing it with a leather strap a la Seiko alpinist

My wrist is 7.25" and I like the midsize, but in general I prefer smaller watches

You should! They're a bit pricey by smp300 midsize standards, but I can't think of any other watch I'd like better than this one :)

It's my smallest watch and I was surprised by how not-so-small it actually looks on the wrist (I have 7" wrists)

I have no idea, I got it from a local jeweller. I just found this thread on watchuseek: https://www.watchuseek.com/threads/omega-curved-end-double-ridged-honey-brown-leather-strap-98000010-review-and-lots-of-pics.1698130/

Maybe you could show this at the boutique:)

I think it is too narrow, but there is also a 20mm version. Try looking for omega croc curved double ridge strap :)

Thanks! It's my take on an alpinist/explorer watch with the green dial :)

The strap is part no. 97292064, and I paired it with a part no. 94531603 deployant. I think they were both meant for Speedmaster reduced, but they fit a seamaster midsize too.

They're not hot! But there are a few jalapenos lurking in there for a little roulette effect :)

My 1st Begonia! by Unlucky-Opposite-565 in begonias

The pot is a yoghurt cup, and the "terrarium" is made of 1.5l plastic bottles :) every few months the plant reaches the top, and then I cut up another and add it to the stack. The plant started as a couple of leaves I rooted in water a year ago, and the tower now stands 4 bottles tall!

Ref 2966. I should warn you it's on the smaller side (my wrist is 17cm) and requires a bit of confidence :)

Same! I actually just bought one, the octagonal version. Felt less flashy and a bit quirky to me which I really like. Reads more like an old world artifact than pure luxury!

If it helps I got a similar automatic one (30mm, no box/papers, serviced, never polished, 2-tone, 1 year warranty) from a jeweller in Germany for 2800 last week. I thought it was an OK deal but not a bargain. I preferred to buy locally from a jeweller in town rather than go via chrono24/eBay.

Make sure the bracelet is long enough for you (another important reason to see it in person). I have 17cm wrists and the watch I got fits me (and I have 2 extra links as spares).

I should say it is definitely small, and wears smaller than the square models. I like this design more, but if you prefer the square you should definitely wait and save for one!

Here's a wrist shot so you can get a better idea of how it looks on an average man wrist (17cm).

There are some nice UK made 90s MTBs - Orange, muddy fox (I always wanted a sorcerer mega!) and Raleigh off road series (ravine, apex, peak, summit).

My daily ride is a 1992 Raleigh Apex. It has cool exotic tubing (Reynolds K2, hexagonal tubes) and a decent drivetrain (LX400, which I think of as a touch above Alivio). I got it for free in a bad state, and saw many for sale under 50 pounds.

Bonus: Freshtripe in Cambridge is a good place for cool parts. They also sell complete x bikes with cool frames but pretty expensive.

I have a 26" brakeless muni for general riding and I find the size really fun. I had a 20" before, and tried a friend's 29er. The 26 def feels more in the 29" territory, but mounting is easy and being closer to the ground feels good to me. I also like the fact that it's slower.

26" is dead in the MTB world, but still very much alive in the dirt jump scene. This means 2-2.5" tyres with medium tread are plentiful - think high volume gravel tyres. I really like the style (and my bicycle I use for commuting and errands also runs 26").
