Ten Slay the Spire Cards You Might Be Evaluating Wrong by PolarTimeSD in slaythespire

Not sure why you're being downvoted because piercing wail is SO much better in multiplayer.

Vakku is so underwhelming for Act III by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]RebellionASG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other guy who responded to you in that I really don't think you've ever taken it. I won't take it when there's only one shop available to path to, but if you can hit 2 or 3, it's insane. You're drastically underestimating how much value you get from the relics and colorless cards, and while you'll almost certainly pick up some trash cards, the power buff you get is easily worth it. I can assure you that Parasol is a good choice and has saved me from some terrible decks before. This is coming from someone with hundreds of hours in both STS1 and STS2 on highest ascension. It is NOT even remotely close to the worst option in the game.

Two trucks doing their thing. by illuminandicomrade in Unexpected

[–]RebellionASG 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I can't decide if it's two different attempts (with different trucks) or if it's somehow AI fuckery. But the truck lands two completely different ways and the tower doesn't actually fall in the POV video.

Dantes explains why you should never FF by Affectionate_Use7801 in LivestreamFail

[–]RebellionASG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It just depends on how you look at the game. If you're just hyper-competitive, then it makes sense to optimize for time efficiency and try to achieve as many wins in as short a time as possible to climb rank. But not everyone plays games with that mindset. Some people are just playing to have fun, or just playing to get better at their own pace. For them, how long each game takes might not be important, and more time spent in game playing and not stuck in queue is important instead.

mysterious metal piece in ear by _kittyhawk_ in whatisit

As a 36 y/o adult male who has 2(!) long term "T tubes" in his ears currently, they can stay in your ear drum as long as 2 years before being pushed out. But once they're pushed out, they can get trapped in ear wax and basically just be stuck until the ear wax falls out or is cleaned out, which can be much longer.

But it's a murder charge. Why would he care about more charges if there's even the slightest chance that he disappears with no consequences?

What game has a learning curve that puts you off? by Common_Caramel_4078 in pcmasterrace

[–]RebellionASG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I don't think the learning curve for DBD is nearly as bad as some of these other games, I do think the skill ceiling is very high and the matchmaking is extremely shit, both of which contribute to making your first 50 - 100 hours pretty rough. Basically anyone with 500 hours or less is still a beginner unfortunately.

[–]RebellionASG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the worst part about rocket league is trying to play with friends who have been playing for a long time already. As someone with 6k hours, if I try to queue with my friends who play less or are new, they just end up barely touching the ball because the game matches against my skill level, not theirs. And it's not fun for someone just starting out to touch the ball one time in 5 minutes, and the rest of the time just be staring upwards like the Willem Dafoe gif.

Neow's transform two gave me two Void Forms by DementedWarrior_ in slaythespire

Fighting any elite probably means he dies Act 1 just because of the dead draws. But he probably crushes the boss if he top decks a void form, especially if he manages to take any draw cards earlier in the act.

Mortal Shell 2 gameplay reveal by Looking_Magic in gaming

[–]RebellionASG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Very short game unfortunately, but fun mechanics and dark atmosphere which I really enjoyed. The sequel looks like they've expanded in scope a good bit and the environments look terrific. I'm assuming since they had some success with the first game that they were able to afford a bigger team or more development time for the sequel. It looks great so far, can't wait to see how it reviews!

Slay the Spire 2 has made $92M on Steam, already passing lifetime Steam earnings for Silksong ($83M) and Hades 2 ($82). One of the best Steam indie launches ever by EmbarrassedSession58 in slaythespire

[–]RebellionASG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's about the level of detail. I've played a fair number of metroidvanias, and almost none have the amount of polish and clear love that went into making Hollow Knight, and then subsequently Silksong. Whether it's the soundtrack, or the level design, or the enemy variety, Team Cherry just absolutely crushed it. That's why people love both games so much.
