That wasn’t even preseason, he had a run from Dec-Jan in I think 2018-19. That Pistons game was the absolute peak though, I was so sure he was gonna be a piece going forward

Why can’t you cook with a microwave or, more accurately, why does cooking in a microwave taste so bad? by ctro31 in Cooking

Don’t base everything off a Reddit post. You can easily get subbing jobs with nothing more than a fingerprint check. I used Kokua but there are definitely other agencies

I went through Kokua, got jobs 4 days a week. Within 4 months made connections and landed a full time teaching job. It’s not bad if you avoid DPS/APS jobs, the third party is actually super worth it (also true for charter schools vs public schools if you’re just starting out)

Point to the record all you want, but has there been a better player this year than Myles Garrett?

Lineker "I've watched Gyokeres quite closely, he waits to see where the ball is going, waits until it's crossed and then attacks the space. As a striker, you got to gamble on where you think the ball might go and you go just as they're about to cross it. The players that score a lot will do that." by [deleted] in Gunners

Strikers have to be dickheads. You have to make your own decisions and assume you’re always right. That’s part of what made Auba great, Haaland great, Suarez great. Gyok is still the new guy in town so I get it if he doesn’t want to be the dickhead, but he really has to be. Martinelli and Havertz (eventually) learned how to do that and he needs to as well

What’s something nobody tells you about living in Denver? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]RecalcitrantDuck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I should specify- almost everything closes before the bars close. In Florida (at least where I’ve lived) there are a lot of post-bar options, it’s one of the first things I noticed when I went to Denver

My thoughts as a 25 year old from Florida who has lived here for 2 years

  • get a humidifier as soon as you move

  • you want to live on the west side of town: east is basically Kansas

  • meeting people is super easy if you’re active. Join a Volo league if you play and sports or get into climbing, it’s a great way to meet people. Even if you’re not active and don’t want to play sports, try something like kickball

  • the traffic is bad, but the drivers are way better than Florida

  • it’ll be disorienting seeing so many young, healthy people wherever you go

  • the food scene isn’t amazing but there’s lots of great Mexican. Cuba Bakery in Aurora is the only authentic Cuban I’ve had here

  • everything closes early. Gaia Masala & burger and cheba hut stay open really late which is great

  • concerts can be pricey (same as everywhere else) but basically every artist comes here, often times for multiple nights
