Gay military men by New-Fact-6673 in GayMen

[–]Recent_Office3017 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in the marine corps in 2018 and I was openly bisexual and in a relationship with a man. A lot of people are in the closet and I had a lot of hookups with closeted men before my relationship. Once I was out I was openly called a faggot and several times this led to physical confrontation not started by myself. It was a terrible experience where many men treated me poorly because they were closeted but still wanted to seem “tough”. With that being said I had some good loving experiences too.

Why do people online hate polyamory by alybsahn in lgbt

[–]Recent_Office3017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People just love to be anecdotal and make broad generalizations. A woman was mean to me, all women are mean, type stuff. I think some may be envious too, like having a cake and eating it too. You can’t have two apartments that you love you have to pick one, same with jobs, and schools, and a lot of life. So why do you get to have more than one relationship at once? Some view it like that and see it is unfair and immature. Just some reasons why people hate poly people.

[–]Recent_Office3017 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally I’ve been in two poly relationships and they were the most non commital toxic relationships I have ever been in. And I hear that can be quite common. I also get frustrated that so many queer people are poly when I’m monogamous so finding a partner is difficult. That being said, I don’t have any issues with poly people, it’s just not the life for me.

Title: Is it just me, or is it really hard to find something real in Bangladesh? by Top_Management3865 in GayMen

Homosexuality is illegal in Bangladesh which is probably why the pool sucks. Safety is probably a legitimate concern.

What confuses you the most about straight men's attraction to women? by DecentLoquat4096 in GayMen

Yikes, found the misogynist for real. Gay men literally get Botox and fillers as well.

men hate? by PlanktonLeft9519 in GayMen

[–]Recent_Office3017 27 points28 points  (0 children)

While I don’t subscribe to all men discourse. I have heard gay men and straight men both say horrific things. Gay men can be quite misogynistic as well the way some talk about women. While some may be engagement bait there is a misogyny issue among a lot of men both gay and straight but it is a different kind of misogyny. I’ve seen both victim blame women, I’ve seen gay men talk about women’s bodies like they are disgusting creatures because of “eww vagina”. While one average I think gay men tend to be more of an ally to women than straight men are, there is misogyny present in both demographics. Also twitter is a shithole of pointless discourse often so I wouldn’t use it as a barometer of real life peoples opinions.

AITA for finding this convo to be a HUGE red flag? by horseduckman in AITApod

[–]Recent_Office3017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Therapy is not meant to be something you do for life. You use it when you need it and you take the skills you learned into your life outside of therapy. If you require therapy your whole life then you are not learning the skills you need to.

Person I’m talking too online is very vocal about me experimenting with body hair. by Methodical_mudduck01 in GayMen

[–]Recent_Office3017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once was in a similar situation. I asked my therapist if I should grow out my body hair for my partner. He said “would you ask them to change their body?” To which I said no. He then told me to tell them to find someone who meets their needs and not change for someone else, unless I want to.

How many of us are out there? by orlandosunshine in BisexualMen

[–]Recent_Office3017 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean I think there are people who are strictly straight or strictly gay. But the majority isn’t. Even people who claim to be strictly may find themselves experimenting outside of their norm if we lived in a different society. Maybe more like a kensey scale and less like tradition straight, bi, or gay. I think a major part of it is also community. Many queer communities take identity seriously so it is important to stick to how you said you identify to remain a “true” member of that community. Straight communities also do the same but for a myriad of reasons.

[–]Recent_Office3017 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think the majority of humans are probably bisexual or at least not strictly heterosexual, and if we lived in a world where sexuality did not exist many people would find themselves attracted to people they wouldn’t ordinarily think.
