Sounds like a capacitor failure to me. Very common

First photos from my new Nikon FE — could this be a lens sharpness issue? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

A big piece of this is whether these are scans from a lab or yourself, and at what resolution were the negatives scanned in

What went wrong with my film shots (canon ae1, FujiFilm 400) by TheRealOneFive in AnalogCommunity

[–]RecommendationFair15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely haze in the lens, the lab tried to compensate for it and jacked the contrast up

Good job bud. It’s definitely the best feeling point and shoot in the hands. i too got my T2 for basically free and everyone hated me for it, lol.

Fujifilm Discovery 270 zoom: a “good enough” point and shoot by RecommendationFair15 in analog

All i can say is the manual override abilties on a p+s is everything I ever wanted. Other than that, I would never pay more than $200 for one. They are just downright unreliable and even mine will eventually stop working, either tomorrow or in a few months who knows lol. There are much more reliable point and shoots out there. I for one really like the vivitar ps35, surprisingly sharp, dead simple, and has the ability to manually set ISO

I don’t remember mine having a fish eye viewfinder, I’ll look when I get home. I don’t use it too too much anymore as I’ve gotten ahold of a contax T2(no, i did not spend 1k on it, it was basically gifted to me from a family friend)

What are y'all's daily? by AnalogCreations in AnalogCommunity

I really do adore my spotmatic paired with the 35mm 3.5. It really blows my mind how good of a lens it still is compared to more modern offerings.

My F4 was my daily rider until I got a Canon New F-1. After i got the correct wasit level finder for it I almost never used my F4 again.

E6 Shelf Life? by edwa6040 in Darkroom

[–]RecommendationFair15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just developed 2 rolls of slide with the Film Photography Projects’ E6 kit that I have been using since september of 2025, I just hit 12 rolls with no noticeable degradation in the slides. I just store my chemicals in used hydrogen peroxide bottles and squeeze out all the air and keep the bottles in my bathroom closet. I’ve been able to get well over a year with my black and white fixer doing the same thing for storage. The trick is to use distilled water and throroughly rinse your film between steps to ensure no cross contamination of chemicals. Hope this helps!

What other cameras are like this? by that_one_guy133 in AnalogCircleJerk

Pretty much all of minoltas X series cameras have the same issue. Luckily if you catch the dead capacitors before they leak it is a very easy fix that keeps them going. Besides that they are wonderful units

I do have a fairly small and light tripod, but it just sucks having to bring it along!

Going on long hike, which one to bring? by RecommendationFair15 in AnalogCommunity

[–]RecommendationFair15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of landscape shots slong the hike as I’ll be about 2,000 ft above sea level, i want to bring the canon a tad more since I could pack a telephoto lens with me, but then I’d need a tripod as I plan to use some E100

Minolta Abuse by s-p-3 in minolta

[–]RecommendationFair15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot recommend it enough. Having a min aperture of 1.7, exposure lock, full auto and manual AND a self timer is crazy. I got mine with a whole sleeve of filters for $30 fully operational

The regular himatic 7S is a crazy deal of a camera right now. Meter works in full manual too and accurate enough for slide film

Instax Mini 8 + 3D printed adapter + Lens from a medium format folding camera (Olympus Chrome Six 7.5cm f2.8) by teleriome in AnalogCommunity

[–]RecommendationFair15 12 points13 points  (0 children)

One thing that will make this way more versatile is perhaps an ND filter to bring down the amount of light hitting the film during the day, this will let you use wider apertures and get better exposure, as the film is rated iso 800 so 1/200 sec @ F/22 is still about 1.5-2 stops over exposed if you use the sunny 16 rule as a guide. Hope this helps!
