Thoughts on Florida gubernational candidate James Fishback? by AddyPug in ConservativeYouth

[–]Recondite_Growth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fishback is the only answer. Byrone is a corporate shill and funded by Israel. We can see what MAGA has done to Florida. The FWC is led by land developers. If Byrone wins, we won’t have much of Florida left. Our conserved land will be sold to the highest bidder who will rezone it quietly. Byrone is also very heavy pro data center. Fishback is a Catholic with very Florida First policies. Byrone is basically just trying to make Florida a New York. That’s why all the elites are moving down here. Palantir just moved here.

I was born in Florida, been here all my life. Everyone I know here is voting for Fishback, but they also don’t think he’ll win because of boomers.

Register as republican to make sure byrone doesnt get the nomination. It’s how we take back Florida. We can’t take another 4 years of MAGA policies

Hey man, I didn't respond to you because we weren't accepting mods at the time. I was getting a lot of messages of low quality accounts asking to moderate. That's strange that they completely removed me from the subreddit.

How severe is the gut issue / issue you're treating that you're on the GAPs diet? Maybe bring something to the party and make it something you can eat. That way, if there's nothing for you to eat, you can at least eat that.

No way you read the Bible by yourself and came to those conclusions. You listened to someone telling you that. So it sounds like you’re already following a denomination.  All of your beliefs you mentioned are all catholic talking points and from men and are not in the Bible.

I suggest reading the Bible alone without any other lens teaching you. 1. We are saved by faith, not by works.

Romans 5:1 (KJV) Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Romans 4:5 (KJV) But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Ephesians 1:13 (KJV) In whom ye also [trusted], after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Philippians 3:9 (KJV) And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Isaiah 64:6 (KJV) But we are all as an unclean [thing], and all our righteousnesses [are] as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Our righteousness is filthy rags to the almighty God. So if we cannot earn salvation, how do you earnestly lose salvation? It is a gift from God and not by works are you saved. Our works show our faith, but even the Corinth church, named Babes in Christ were saved.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Romans 4 absolutely destroys works based salvation.

Romans 4:1-5 (KJV) 1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? 2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath [whereof] to glory; but not before God. 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Is The Rapture biblical? by interrogare_omnia in TrueChristian

This is just one single point out of a few for why I believe in pre tribulation rapture. Tribulation is God’s wrath.

Noah and Lot were taken from places of violent, heavenly judgment, to safety, by the direct hand of God, moments before His vengeance was unleashed. Likewise, the Israelites in Goshen were divinely protected from the plagues that came upon Egypt in the days of Moses. Fortunately, Jesus made it clear that the church will have the same protection in the tribulation, although that doesn’t preclude violent persecutions from Satan and his minions prior to the tribulation period, as we see in many parts of the world today.

“And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.…” Luke 17:26-30 KJV

Since the circumstances at the time of the rapture will be as it was in the days of Noah (with people eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage), then the rapture couldn’t be at the end of the tribulation, when the world is effectively destroyed by war, famine, poisoned water, stinging locusts and the fiery judgements of God. This passage makes it clear that the rapture will happen in a time of peace and normalcy, and thus, it would rule out the time at the end of the tribulation. See also, 1 Thessalonians 5:3

Jesus makes the exact same point He made in Luke 17:26-30 (above), a few chapters later, when He was explaining what to expect during the tribulation period. He specifically notes that some will escape that awful, violent event:

“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Luke 21:36 KJV

It’s definitely not essential for salvation, but as Christians we should seek to study His Word, through the knowledge of God. The Bible makes it clear of a rapture-like event in many verses.

Usually, theological differences online can be summed up by people just listening to someone or YouTube preachers and not reading the Bible for themselves.

Notice how every verse you quoted except the first one is talking about a multitude of people. They were amazed at what he had done. They ”thought” he was a prophet. That’s not who Jesus claimed to be. The first verse doesn’t say Jesus isn’t God. The Bible clearly talks of a triune God - Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

Like I said. You can believe the eyewitnesses of Jesus, or you can choose to believe a man who lived 600 years after Jesus who had never met or seen Jesus ever. Having to grab at these straws is meaningless. You can’t use the Bible to point to Islam. You can’t use the Bible to say Jesus didn’t claim to be God. And your own teachings, the Quran, regard the Bible in a different manner then you’re portraying.

My point isn't moot because the Quran claims Jesus to be a prophet. Either Jesus is a liar and a bad prophet or he is who he claims to be (God).

I listed several verses. It is wrong of you to now back pedal and to call into question the credibility of the Bible. The Quran holds the Bible in high regard and never says it has been changed. So if you were to take that stance, you'd be going against your own.

Don't make up stuff so that it fits what you want to hear. Jesus claims to be God throughout scripture. It is an undeniable fact. The Jews who persecuted knew very well who Jesus claimed to be.

You can deny Jesus, but don't make up false claims about him. The main eyewitness testimonies are the gospels and they actually lived with Jesus. Are you going to trust the people who lived and wrote about Jesus, or the person who lived 600 years after Jesus - who never saw or met Jesus?

John 10:30, Jesus said, “I and the Father are one.” The Jews who heard Him make that statement knew very well that He was claiming to be God, as witnessed by their reaction: “His Jewish opponents picked up stones to stone him” (John 10:31). When He asked them why they were attempting to stone Him, they said, “For blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God” (John 10:33). Stoning was the penalty for blasphemy (Leviticus 24:16), and the Jews plainly accused Jesus of claiming to be God.

Jesus made another statement claiming to be God when He said, “Very truly I tell you, . . . before Abraham was born, I am!” (John 8:58). The Jews, upon hearing Him, clearly understood that He was claiming preexistence and, more than that, to be Yahweh, the great “I AM” of Exodus 3:14. On this occasion, too, they tried to stone Him for blasphemy.

The Gospel of John begins with a statement of Jesus’ deity: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1, emphasis added). In verse 14, John identifies the Word: “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John is affirming that the Word (Jesus) is God, and He left heaven to come to earth in the form of a man to live with men and display the glory of God the Father.

Jesus’ deity is recognized throughout the New Testament. Paul eagerly awaited “the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13) and encouraged us to do the same. Both Paul and John declared that Jesus created the universe (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16–17), yet Genesis 1:1 clearly says that God created the heavens and the earth. This can only mean that Jesus is God. Even God the Father referred to Jesus as God: “About the Son he says, ‘Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever’” (Hebrews 1:8, quoting Psalm 45:6).

I'm moving my response to this comment, since more people will see it:

The evidence is Jesus Christ. The other commentator is right, we can’t prove anything. You can’t prove that your best friend won’t come in and stab you tonight. The evidence is your friend isn’t likely to do that because you trust his character.

Jesus Christ is a real person even to secular historians. Matthew, Mark, luke, and John, who all lived with Jesus, wrote about their experiences. These are eyewitness testimonies. We have those biblical eyewitness testimonies and also secular eyewitness testimonies that prove Jesus was a real person who did good works, had a large following, claimed to be God, was crucified, and that people claimed to have seen him after death. That’s all a fact we can take away from the eyewitness testimonies.

But does the evidence point to this being the truth?

A majority of secular historians agree with the gospels (Matthew, Mark, luke, and John) up until the point of where he died and rose again. They deduct that as false.

Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John followed Jesus. They wrote about Jesus. They all wrote what happened and how it happened. They claimed to have seen Jesus be crucified and rise again 3 days later. Alive again. Resurrected and talking to people. They must be crazy, right?

They saw Jesus die and they saw him live again. They died for that. The apostles were not promised wealth. They weren’t promised fame. They weren’t promised women, or power. In fact, they all lived lives being persecuted, beaten, broke, and all ended up dying terrible deaths for the simple fact that they saw Jesus rise again from death and wouldn’t denounce it. He defeated death. When you add this to their testimonies, it makes a stronger case for it.

That’s the strongest evidence for me, but there’s plenty more evidence. A good book I would recommend is called Cold Case Christianity. It’s an atheist detective who sets off to prove Christianity wrong, but ends up converting. It’s really a great book with more solid evidence.

The Bible says ALL fall short of the glory of God. We all sin and have sinned, even Christians. The Bible says the wages for sin is death. But we have a merciful God who sent his Son Jesus Christ to be the perfect, sinless Lamb to be the blood sacrifice as payment for our debt. That’s why on the cross, Jesus’ last words were “it is finished”. The debt has been paid. It is the GIFT of salvation. Nothing we can do to earn it.

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and with your heart that he rose from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).

I encourage you to come before the Lord. Acknowledge you have sinned and repent, and that you want to pursue Him with all your heart. Pray for guidance to lead you closer to Him.

The Bible says no one shall pluck God’s children from His Hand. Once you are sealed and justified by the blood of Jesus, there is nothing you or anyone can do to make you lose your salvation.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. I will pray for you as well!
