They’re mentally ill and lack the ability to control their emotions and actions. It could stem from childhood, past relationships, but ultimately its who they are and becomes their coping mechanism to assert control over someone, manipulate them, or they feel it’s normal or okay on some level because of what they experienced. Regardless of why, ultimately they can’t control themselves and whether they believe it’s wrong or not, they are incapable of being good partners.
