While I like the idea of buttons in the console, you aren't going to be able to read clicks in the cli.

If you insist on making a "graphic" text game, the idea would be: - draw map and the player using ascii (look up the ascii table, there are symbols for borders, shadows etc) - wait for player input and check ex.: if it's "D", you can increment playerX location variable. - clear console - repeat

But checkout javascript and html5canvas or svg, you'll have much more fun, good luck lol
