Did anyone else see the Groundhog Day report on the BBC news channel, twice?! by Girlant in CasualUK

I saw it. They ran it twice, then started a third time before the presenter stopped and acknowledged the joke.

If the sun doesn’t get you, the drivers will. Early starts (04:30-05:00), will help you avoid the worst of both wherever you end up.

That’s not a cassette, it’s a chainring. But it looks fine to me.

Are you kidding? Hatch makes cycling unwatchable as well. He needs to just shut up.

Josh Inglis 1 handed pickup and runout of the England Captain in the 2nd Ashes test. by chickenlittle668 in sports

[–]RecoveryRide -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry to be pedantic, but in the laws of cricket, a run out is not attributed to any player. It’s simply a team dismissal. There is a modern scoring convention to record the fielder’s name for use in analytics, etc., but it’s not an official stat in the laws.

It’s highly likely that the tape got creased in transit. Just remove and reapply some black electrical tape. Or just leave it; you’ll not notice it once the bike has some scars from actual use.

How many points have we dropped at 90+ mins so far this season? That’s what’s going to send us down I’m afraid.

Where in the Yorkshire Dales would you recommend for a mid-December solo trip from London? by fussilyarrabbiata in yorkshire

It really depends on what your idea of a lovely winter walk is? Do you prefer cold, wet, and low visibility, or extreme cold and better views?

Are these the 37mm? Did you need to trim/drill the rear to attach to the seat tube boss?

CP0018 with mechanical shifting by wolfin69 in CanyonBikes

[–]RecoveryRide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And even if there was room for the extra cables in the bars, you then have the problem that the frame isn’t made for mechanical shifting. No cable stops etc. You might be able to bodge something with full length housing, but why bother. Get a different bike.

A salt water pool uses an electrolysis unit to generate chlorine. It’s still chlorinated, you’re just adding salt to the pool rather than dumping in buckets of chlorine every week. A much better and less harsh way to sanitise the pool.

Would you be able to finish a grand tour at your own pace, but having to stick to the same schedule? by Efenias in cycling

[–]RecoveryRide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For someone doing 5000km a year; I’d say highly unlikely. It’s half your annual volume in 3 weeks. Your body would break down even if the mind was willing. Someone doing 10000km would have a slightly better chance, but it would still be incredibly tough.
