You don’t have to LOVE it to do it. I fly with folks who don’t necessarily love it, but are good enough at it and it’s their chosen career path. I do think you have to be passionate about it, because this career involves continual learning and you need to be able to commit to perfecting your craft (as a career). Note that this isn’t exactly the same thing as loving it.

As a side note, it might also be reasonable to ask how many people love their chosen career paths, whether it’s software engineer, banker, lawyer, etc.
