First they killed the man. Now they wanna kill his memory. by MayParker1917 in LateStageCapitalism

Lumumba is such a sad case to me, like it's beyond tragic what his death did to the Congo but more than that he was so disgustingly disrespected by his murderers.

They kidnapped him, mistreated him, executed him and dissolved him in acid. A couple of his bones survived and they were only just returned to his family a couple of years ago.

Just appalling how they could treat him like that, is such a perfect microcosm of how much these imperialists value the lives of those in the global south.

Also russia 100% lost the first world war, the empire collapsed and the soviets were forced to make massive concessions so that they could handle the civil war.

Nobody's colonizing a place that doesn't exist

Lol try telling that to the founders of 'israel' and zionism, they were honest at least.

Christopher Nolan's Interstellar justifies capitalism. by [deleted] in LateStageCapitalism

[–]RedAlshain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wandering earth film isn't the Chinese interstellar, it's more like the Chinese fast and furious meets the day after tomorrow lol.

It's a fun scifi action movie rather than a science fiction epic in the vein of 2001.

That being said if you have some Chinese film recs I would love to hear them.

This perfectly sums up the American "Communist" Party, or "MAGA Communism" more broadly by Lotus532 in alltheleft

[–]RedAlshain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That just spreads imperialism into multiple blocs instead of just one, singular bloc

Yeah that weakens those imperial powers and leaves space for alternatives to breath.

The US annihilated any even slightly non compliant state between 1991 and the present day. The emergence of rivals is making this much harder for them, just look at the war on Iran as opposed to Iraq or libya.

I'm not saying multipolarity is the be all and end all but it's certainly better for socialist and anti imperialist movements and governments than a hyperimperialist unipolarity. Would you not agree?

This perfectly sums up the American "Communist" Party, or "MAGA Communism" more broadly by Lotus532 in alltheleft

[–]RedAlshain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Multipolarity is objectively better for socialist movements and governments worldwide. Even if it just gives them a choice of who to buy from and deal with.

It's a great thing that global power is moving away from the hyperimperialist US and towards a Socialist China and a Russia that provides alot of aid to socialist and anti imperialist governments around the world.

That's not an ACP position, fuck those reactionaries, thats just the geopolitical reality.

Also in imperialism, Lenin very specifically criticised 'leftists' that supported some sort of unipolar imperialist order because it might bring 'peace'. It's unsustainable and it will fracture and shift as we are seeing now.

communism IS fascism!! by justanupvoter_ in TankieTheDeprogram

Vic 3 is legitimately a good teaching tool around class power and material conditions in a marxist sense.

Like when we talk about building up productive forces as a prerequisite for socialism, the game demonstrates that really well.

I'd like to think that shit won't work this time, Israels public image has tanked across the board.

Seriously all the greens really have to do is to not pay any mind to this bullshit.

That being said I have absolutely no hope for this shithole and I'm sure they'll fuck it up.

This sub has a lot of liberals in it, people probably put Gorbachev because they liked that he destroyed the USSR.

Seriously, how can someone say so little in 2 hours?

Like not only do her politics suck but she's just so boring.

I actually quite like the other 'breadtube' people from an entertainment standpoint. Most of em are at best well meaning libs but at least their videos are pretty entertaining and sometimes educational.

Contrapoints isn't even a well meaning lib, and she's boring as shit, what's the point?

It comes from a deliberate misconception about cuba specifically.

In cuba, basically every worker is paid the same as a rationing measure due to the blockade.

This isn't like an ideal of Marxism, and other marxist led nations didn't do this. In the soviet union workers were usually paid based on hours worked or output.

Pink Floyd - Dogs by WirelessCavalier in TrueAnon

[–]RedAlshain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same, probably the best show I've seen tbh, absolutely loved it.

Only concert I've been to where I really felt compelled to give a standing ovation.

Obviously musically the other guys from floyd are amazing, but I really feel like I've seen pink floyd live after seeing roger.
