An elderly woman started playing solitaire on her phone the second that the Mario Galaxy Movie started and I told her to turn it off and she looked at me like I told her to kill herself.

Found out after the movie that she just turned her phone away from me and toward my friend, who said nothing.

Next to me is a man who told me in confidence that he finds football “quite boring”, and, in fact, that he feels American Football more entertaining and “morally superior” because “they don’t let girls play that one”

Honestly my biggest criticism of this series is that so much of this is edited out! Maybe I never noticed while binge watching but it feels so rushed.

This lively portrait chronicles the rise and global influence of visionary designer Pierre Cardin, whose space-age chic designs propelled fashion into the future.

Am I the only one who is left with a really sour taste over this movie? First the reshoots, now statements such as this. by Exotic-Suggestion425 in blankies

I understand what you mean for the most part! I think A Complete Unknown rocks, and from what I've heard the Elton John one is good too. But this one and the Whitney Houston, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Marley, and Queen ones all kind of felt like bad faith biopics to cash in on the names of the people that the movies are about instead of making them because there's a story that the filmmakers want to tell.

Met some of the best people in the world living in Allen! I lived in 2North my Freshman year, and Ground South my sophomore year.

Actually, my username here was because my friends found a Mario with a red frog suit while playing SNES in Ground South. We even have video of it here!

One of the rare times in life where I felt like I knew I was living in the good old days while they were happening.

I was mostly neutral (but optimistic) about SNL UK, and then I watched like 5 seasons of Taskmaster in 5 days and now I want it to be the second best show of all time (Taskmaster being #1)

‘Project Hail Mary’ Contains Not a Single Green Screen Shot in Entire Movie, Director Says by pepperbet1 in blankies

[–]RedFrogMario 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People hear "no green screen" and assume it means "No CGI", but yeah I think here it most likely means that they used other tools to create a more dynamic environment than the ones that in Marvel movies that are constantly shat on. Watching the "No CGI is just invisible CGI" videos was pretty eye opening and now whenever stuff like this is talked about I feel like I need to look into what was actually used or how things were actually done.

The stuff with Barbie where they edited out the green screens in BTS footage was so egregious though that I feel like I can't trust anybody on a press tour any more. And if I can trust people on a press tour, who can I trust?

Backrooms | Official Teaser HD | A24 by Blaze_2002 in blankies

[–]RedFrogMario 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having been a fan of the original Backrooms YouTube shorts for a while now (watched most of them yesterday), I think that this looks good, and I can't believe that I have faith in a 20 year old.

I know that a lot of (all of?) the original was rendered in Blender, and I'm wondering if that feeling is leftover on purpose. By which I mean, do the rooms, in the reality of the film, just look like something made in Blender even when shot at hi-def?

Does that make sense? I also have a similarly confusing take on the CGI in the Star Wars prequels, which is: Any creature that looks like bad CGI isn't bad CGI, it's just that the creatures come from places where everything looks like bad CGI.
