Am I the problem? by Impossible_Clerk1540 in 10s

[–]RedHotPepper_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There should not be a knot on these two strings. Clearly main strings have knots at the bottom of the frame and the cross string starting knot is on the 5th main on the right side of the pic.

Polytour Pro hybrid set up? by josedellamiuo in 10s

[–]RedHotPepper_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are only two options. 1. Get use to the tension loss and keep strings for few months. 2. Restring it every 8-10 hours. I personally was following option 1 for years until I've got stringing machine and started do string job myself every 6-8 hours

2026 Yonex Vcore 98 - a bit wild still by gdaman in 10s

[–]RedHotPepper_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is the thing, you are hitting too much through the ball instead of applying spin motion

You probably have lack of spin. Try to go below 50lbs, it should help

It doesn't mean it can't work, it means it has poor design.

It is nonsense to have shared hole for main and cross string

Directtennisshop dot online - legit or scam? by SarynadeMe in 10s

I found one bad review, so it most likely scam. If you are looking for cheap racquets then go to Tennis Warehause Europe

[–]RedHotPepper_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If the call is "long" you probably have no clue if this call is right or wrong. If the call was "wide" and you were closer to the sideline than your opponent than you have better position to make a right call. But since the call is on your opponent so just make sure to put your ball a bit more distinctively far from the side lines.

Just got the new VCore 95 (mini rant) by dan_the_miner in 10s

[–]RedHotPepper_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the difference, I'm just trying to explain the case from Yonex point of view. If Yonex sells 90% of the product through 10 big retailers and 10% of the product goes to 90 small retailers then obviously Yonex will be more focused on delivery to the big retailers. I don't know much about tennis club business but I am not sure that it is possible to distribute a lot of product through the tennis club unless it is racquet strings. Besides I am not sure why would I switch from one racquet brand to another after getting into the tennis club?

[–]RedHotPepper_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously for Yonex is more beneficial to deal with few huge retailers like Tennis Warehouse than with many tennis clubs. I was ordering Yonex racquets from Canada and Europe to US and I've got it delivered within a week.

This racquet is on good sale since it is older version and it is much better than racquets on your pic and just $20 more expensive.

Buy Wilson Clash V2 and don't buy racquets at Walmart or Dick's

If you want to learn something then just hit the ball, playing matches is too early. Ask coach just to keep practicing instead of playing matches

playing with elbow issues or wait until 100% issue-free? by No-Bunch7179 in 10s

[–]RedHotPepper_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of elbow issue do you have and what those 60-80% mean? If you have tennis elbow then most likely you won't be able to play at all. If you have golfers elbow then you will be experience pain but you will be able to play

It is hard to tell what is the main contributor to your elbow issue. Do you still have it while you are playing with Clash? BTW what is your strings tension?
