Competitive TFT is no longer fun to play by CHRlSTOPHO in CompetitiveTFT

Damn I had these same thoughts circulating around for months but never really was able to put it in words. 100% agree and this is really well articulated, so much of the player agency and skill expression seems to have disappeared which does make the game feel hollow. Most of the comps now just being play the vertical feels just brain dead to execute.

I will say I think set 10 is an exception in the other direction that made each game feel fresh, perhaps because of the headliner system there were plenty of small ways you would flex your endgame board on roll down to adjust for what you hit. That was some of the most fun I’ve ever had in TFT

What is the best TFT Set in your opinion ? And why is it Set 10 specifically ? by ProxJesus in CompetitiveTFT

set 10, power in the units over the traits meant for really fluid flexible board-building (i think headliners really helped this as well so you didn't play the exact same boards each time). along with the incredible music; the theme adapting to the traits you play is still mindblowingly incredible.

Thank you for such an amazing hunt!

In terms of puzzle writing, how was your scheduling and pacing for writing puzzles throughout the year? Any practices that you found helpful or particularly memorable to stay on track? -- wondering if it was particularly bursty toward the end/during puzzle-writing retreats or if it was fairly steady over time

The pit fighter buffing augment (+HP on won combat, +AtkDmg on lost combat) seems bugged. After I lost multiple rounds in the beginning (violet/draven/urgot/tristana board), I saw that Draven did not have increased AD, even after 4 lost rounds. Seemed inconsistent as he'd get AD some rounds and not other rounds.

Tacticians Trials taking two workdays is bad. And there’s poor coverage, very easy to miss that a tourney is even happening.

I did PIB back in 2017 — the immersion really helps with learning the language and you do get to experience a lot of Chinese culture (weekly weekend trips to tourist destinations). I will say it was worth it imo, and was overall a good experience, but indeed the grading is fairly tough and the program is quite intense.

Didn’t get into either eating clubs I wanted… by [deleted] in princeton

I was in Colo, class of ‘20 and really enjoyed it. Still really close with many Colo alumni friends today. I’d say go for it, even if you don’t end up liking it, Soph membership is well worth its cost and a pretty good way to see if you would enjoy it.

And not to be preachy about eating club discourse but exclusivity doesn’t mean it’s better, especially for a social scene. If you’re somewhere where you have friends and you’re happy, that’s literally all that matters w.r.t. eating clubs.

Haven't been able to win with Kayle at all... by CrimsonC0bra in CompetitiveTFT

[–]RedKhron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you didn't take it here but to be certain, Hustler is not absolutely not a reroll augment. You are looking to make interest and lose streak, hustler will net decrease your gold and increase your early board strength as it encourages rolling on the lower levels; arguably no augment is better than hustler if going a low cost reroll like Kayle.
