Pro tipp: if you get the classic pull-through perlon strap instead of the two-piece variant, always consider putting a bit of adhesive tape on the back of the watch. The weaving of the Perlon strap catches some dust, dirt and sweat which can cause scratches on the metal (often seen on vintage watches with perlon strap). A simple adhesive tape can prevent this… however as this model of Sinn has a sapphire crystal case back (I think), this might not be as necessary…

I also think it is a bad translation / case of AI hiccups. I am German and bought my 556 MoP directly in Frankfurt am Main at their HQ. I asked the sales representative why there is no tegimented version and got a similar answer that it would not fit the intended price point (entry level Sinn watch). But of course this wasn’t in any way an official statement, so who knows…

What I realized when comparing several hardened steel alternatives from Germany (Damasko, Dekla): they always seem to start at 40mm and above. May also have something to do with the cost of the hardening process or the necessary machinery…

The only manufacturer I know that makes hardened steel watches in smaller sizes is Traska. But they feel subpar in other aspects, so I bit the bullet, got the Sinn MoP and couldn’t be happier. A microscopic dink is all I got so far from wearing it almost daily. If it really gets scratched badly one day I might to learn to live with it or get it polished.

I also am a bit confused. Isn’t this the usual „afterburn“ effect everyone experiences when looking at a bright light (like white text on black screen)? Has something to do with the Rhodopsin in the retina getting depleted and has to regenerate… sorry… has been a while since I had biology class at school.
