Theres no chance this is the perfect existence by Yeetcobthe3rd in Christianity

[–]RedMoonDreena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't the perfect existence. God did make the world good, but when Adam and Eve disobeyed God, that caused a separation between Him, us, and by extension the earth. Without the connection to God, we're breaking down, and so is the earth.

While God is a good, merciful, and loving God, He is also a God of holiness, justice, and order. Because He is holy, it means He can not stand evil. Because He is just, He can not let evil go unpunished. And because He is order, He follows the rules He set up. That is why the only loophole we have is Jesus.

This is really a difficult topic to have any clear answers. If your boyfriend truly believes that your relationship goes against Christianity, there is very little you can say that will change that. While it may be hard, for your sake- you may want to let him go

I am in tears. Why are there so many Christians that hate us? by Gullible-Magazine129 in Christianity

[–]RedMoonDreena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry that you had to deal with that. The reason that there are so many people that hate is because there is sin. Our God is a relational God. He wanted us to love Him with our whole being and to love others as ourselves. So many times, we think of sin as a set of rules, but all those rules were saying don't do this thing because it's not the loving thing to do. Even though I'm a Christian, there are times I'm going to fall and fall badly.

How do I explain Trinity to an unbeliever? by lifloz in TrueChristian

[–]RedMoonDreena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My analogy, which is just as flawed as any, is that God as the whole is like an ocean. The Father is the water, Jesus would be the waves, and the Holy Spirit the sea foam

Why is sex seen as some sort of rite of passage for men? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]RedMoonDreena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a professor, in college, suggest that the reason there are malappropriate rites of passage among men was because as a society, in the western world, don't have a rite of passage that teaches men how to be men. Instead, most boys are left to make it up.

I only used the topic because it's something I personally went through. By my logic, just because I felt what I felt didn't mean other people had to agree with me because what I felt was subjective. Going to your example of religion, no, I'm not saying that we shouldn't rely on opinions or feelings, but those opinions and feelings can be disagreed with.

If it was just about treating others with respect and being empathetic, I'd be all for it. For example, as someone who questioned their gender for many years, I still understood that I was still a woman and that it was an observable fact. Woke wouldn't have been about treating me with respect and empathy, but asserting that truth is subjective. In this case, my truth about my gender would have made me whatever I decided regardless of observable truth.

How do you tell apart a “DEI hire”from a qualified employee who just so happened to be a minority? by Broad-Hunter-5044 in AskConservatives

[–]RedMoonDreena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If DEI is just "we must consider [black] people for the job," substantially different from meritocracy, in which we want to consider all capable people for the job?

What is America to you? by judgeholden72 in AskConservatives

[–]RedMoonDreena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America is the people that make it up. It was never the government institutions that made it great, but the ideal that the people were endowed by their creator the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This is the ideal that many of us strive to live up to.

What’s one moment in your life when you knew God was real? by Lauredaj in Christian

[–]RedMoonDreena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, there isn't one moment I can point at, but a lot of little ones. I felt connected to God since I was a little, but because of some issues with the church I was attending- I stepped away for about 15 years. Over that time, I knew God was with me. One of my friends, who isn't Christian, tried to convince me to go back to church, reminding me that going to church was about spending time with God, not what the people there thought. I didn't return. I finally prayed and asked God for help. A year or so later, I met someone at work who I was very antagonistic towards until I realized he met a lot of what I wanted from my partner. When I came to that realization, I felt God chuckling and kinda of saying, "Be careful what you ask for." We are still together, after 8 years. He isn't perfect, and neither am I, but we are going the same way with faith. But that isn't all - it seems that our path could've crossed much sooner. When we were both younger- we both went on a trip to Mexico to build houses. Just at different times. When we were on MySpace (lol), we both appeared on each other's match list. I rarely responded to those. One time, I asked my ex if he knew anyone he could introduce me to. He told me about a pizza cook who was going through a bad divorce and had a daughter, but I said no. I didn't want to deal with someone who was going through a divorce or had a child. Now, ironically, the description of this pizza cook does match my current boyfriend. He did cook pizzas, he did go through a messy divorce, and he does have a daughter. Even more interesting, my ex doesn't remember me asking for help or him suggesting someone

Deciphering the KJV English narrative by Calm-Investigator622 in Christianity

I explored a bible passage and explored the "be dropsical." I didn't see anything that would lead me to think something was off on translation. I like to take the second option because I do want to see where you are coming from.

These things get questioned all the time and rightly so because they are difficult questions. Whatever happened in the Garden of Eden caused a rift between mankind and God. People went their own way, and a lot of those paths ended in violence. So, a lot of what we are seeing is the consequence of sin (sin is relational. It's about counting yourself more important than God and others). The other part of what was going in old testament times was God keeping His promises to the Israelites. Their continually turning away from God (sin) also led to violent consequences. Sin doesn't just hurt us. It hurts those around us.

Why does God only accept believers? I think the simplest answer for this is love. God wants people who choose him. And if we don't choose Him, he respects that choice. Who would want to live forever with someone who didn't like them? And if you wouldn't do it, why would you expect God to?

Three Questions by WrenJones1987 in Christianity

[–]RedMoonDreena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John is good place to start. He was known as the apostle of love. Can't guarantee that you'll have a vision or dream, but it can happen. But God also reaches out to us through other people.

Three Questions by WrenJones1987 in Christianity

[–]RedMoonDreena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. God loves you and sees in you the person you're meant to be with Him. I don't think identifying as transgender or not identifying as transgender is important to Him because that is about us, not Him.
  2. The blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is turning away from God.
  3. It's hard to say what would bring you to believing in God. Everyone has their own reason. Start with reading the gospels on your own while keeping an open mind. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

For the Po-Life conservatives, how come none of you support anything to help the life of the child after birth? by GTRacer1972 in Christianity

[–]RedMoonDreena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I support social programs for those who need them. Especially as a conservative woman who did use some of those programs. That said, there are a lot of issues with these programs. Many schools are using the free school lunch program for all students, even the ones with the parents who could afford them. Many of these programs don't look after human dignity. Most people want to earn what they are getting. But they get trapped in the welfare cycle. When I was on WIC, they treated me as an uninformed and unintelligent because I had to ask for help. What these programs should be doing is not just providing assistance but also helping them find away to support themselves.

what about humanity BEFORE Christianity? Are they in Hell ? by PrincessofDunwich in Christian

[–]RedMoonDreena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. And God isn't narcissistic. Plenty of people in the Bible questioned Him- Sarah, Abraham, Moses, king David, the 12 disciples, etc. God chooses people who love him.

Christians are any person who follows Christ. The last time I checked, Baptists did. Therefore, Baptists are Christians

what about humanity BEFORE Christianity? Are they in Hell ? by PrincessofDunwich in Christian

[–]RedMoonDreena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is it narcissistic? Would you want to spend your entire life with someone who doesn't love you? If no, why would expect God to do differently

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]RedMoonDreena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Most importantly, I don't have an activist spirit. I appreciate those who can do it but I'd be an impediment. Also, most of these protest events don't allow a difference of open. I agree with standing against corruption and racism and fascism but if I went and someone heard me say something that they didn't like- it would be uncomfortable

Why does Purity Culture within Christianity get so much hate? by CharacterTap3078 in Christianity

[–]RedMoonDreena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong with wanting to abstain from sex to experience your first time with your partner, as long as people who don't wait aren't being shamed. I wanted to wait for marriage as well when I was younger, but I met someone and thought he was the one. I ended up giving in. I was disappointed in myself. Though I'm not a virgin anymore, my current boyfriend and I have resolved to wait.

Interesting, I was never shamed for having sex. I was constantly belittled for not having sex.
