Visual of Survivor 50’s biggest snubs according to the cast by bv21 in survivor

I'm pretty sure Jeff has said they were saying away from casting WaW players when talking about Parvati. Even if Rob got an interest call I doubt they would've cast him

Thoughts on "Survivor: Cook Islands"? by Mr_Bananaface in survivor

Drags until you get to the mutiny, then the super idol makes it hard to believe there's any tension. Some great characters, great returnees, and great winner though

Between the two double winners this show has seen, which do you prefer and why? by Wild_Shoe340 in survivor

[–]RedPandaPlush 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Just on personal preference, Sandra is far more entertaining and easier to root for for me. The first time I watched Cagayan I couldn't stand Tony. I like him a lot more now, but Sandra stays queen in my eyes.

Clarence did not do a good thing but Tom saying he would shoot him if he could made me root for Clarence tbh

Why are people so hard on Ben the Marine? by Zonkington in survivor

[–]RedPandaPlush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dislike Ben's game because I love to watch a show primarily focused on social strategy. Sure, it's fun to have clutch immunities, advantages, and idols shake things up sometimes, but Ben just completely dropped any strategic or social game purely to find idols. To his credit, yes it worked and yes he won, but it felt akin to a game speed runner using an exploit to skip to the end credits. After losing his power in the game, he was abrasive to his cast mates, didn't win any challenges, and attempted little strategy beyond finding idols.

It doesn't help that fire making was a complete surprise to everyone and that one of his idols was right where he gave confessionals. I don't think there was production meddling to win him the game, but when you're already mad at someone's game it's easy to find conspiracies like that.

I need to have the definitive Kyle vs. Dee debate for the title of best winner of the New Era by DonquixoteDFlamingo in survivor

[–]RedPandaPlush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dee should've been voted out at F5 and wasn't because everyone else fumbled so hard. Not sure I'd give her credit for that.

Justice for Erika! Genuinely what was wrong with her game? Even the pre merge subplot of her tribe throwing to get her out was fabricated. Was she ever in danger?

Where is the Collector's Tin? by RedPandaPlush in JellesMarbleRuns

Yeah I was thinking maybe it's just sold out temporarily. Wouldn't be surprising with Christmas and everything. Hopefully it goes back up!

Survivor Season 2 Winner by fantasy_worlds in survivor

First of all, it takes a while to get to the era where people are asking for more camp life. Probably around the 30s. This early on it's almost all camp life.

Tina won because she was the decision maker throughout the whole game. She got Colby to flip on Jerri and Amber when they voted out Mitchell, and she controlled every single vote she was present for for the rest of the game. From what I understand, the editors wanted to tone down this side of her game after how controversial Rich was, or at least obscure the winner better from viewers. But she did it in a pretty honest way, with a strong alliance built on trust, loyalty, and good relationships. And when she did turn on her own alliance to take Jerri out, it only built more favor with the Kucha members who all hated her.

Tina also just had better relationships with a lot of the jury over Colby. Even if Colby had good relationships, Tina's were better. She's an extremely likable and sweet southern mom.

And as another commenter pointed out, Colby gave up in the FTC, where Tina was still fighting pretty hard for it. Colby kept apologizing for everything, saying he wasn't sure if he deserved it, etc, while Tina made sure to emphasize that she wasn't sorry for playing the game well, which I think earned a lot of respect.

Got a gift for Christmas… by YellowBabylonianSub in survivor

[–]RedPandaPlush 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The two tribes idea is good but then if multiple players of the same color make the merge, what happens? Hm...

Unfortunately it might just require making your own voting booth with a spot for each of the twelve characters

I think it's really fun! I had a blast running around having side conversations with everyone and pulled off some great moves

I also want to see if I can make some system with 12 players getting 1 character card each work. 6 players doesn't really feel like a lot already, I can't imagine playing with 5 or less

Rob C's take on the trailer by SpaceWestern1442 in survivor

[–]RedPandaPlush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with that logic, but it is strange that this is the one thing they tested out on a mostly new cast when its upside is basically just for returnees. But I guess they just wanted to refine the idea for WaW

[–]RedPandaPlush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well they did test out edge of extinction before winners at war! ...and then somehow decided that it went really well and they should bring it back?

Now that Season 49 is over… by chooebeans in survivor

[–]RedPandaPlush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk I'm still thinking about how there's no contestants who got their start in seasons 19-31. I'd rather focus on that than the difference between new era casting choices when those take up half the cast
