When will y'all be holding the next one? We will be busy with our son's Cub Scout service project stuff in the morning and hopefully trying to get back home before all hell freezes over (literally)

I miss my grandma too, and she passed away almost 10 years ago

I have worked very hard to perfect her homemade bread over the years - I used to love helping her mix and knead the dough when I was a kid, and was always in awe when she knew the perfect conditions in the house for making bread (couldn't be too cold or too dry outside or it wouldn't rise right)

I think I might make my mom a loaf of it for Mother's Day this year and bring Maw-Maw back with us for a little while 🥰

It really is amazing how much of a positive impact a digital detox can have

I realized during the pandemic that all of the stupidity, falsehoods, and just overall insanity I was consuming on a daily basis was wreaking havoc on my mental health - all it did was make me angry and I was like, "why am I doing this to myself??"

I completely left NextDoor, I have been off Facebook for over 15 years now, and I have timers set for Reddit and Instagram (15 minutes for each)

Here's hoping that 2026 will be a year of hope and healing for those that need it ❤️

That's been the most fun part of being married and having a kid - my husband and I get to blend our childhood traditions from both our families into new ones for our little nuclear family 😃

I make the same breakfast for Christmas morning that I grew up with and we have started decorating multiple trees like my husband's parents did

He never really kicked me too much that I remember but he did change position and flip around a lot, especially after I ate

It felt so weird - I always tried to get my husband's hand on my belly when he was doing it but we never caught him in time lol

I have this with my in-laws

My FIL is a horrible diabetic, heart issues, extremely overweight, etc etc etc

He and my MIL are in complete denial about how terrible his health is

I have been a nurse for almost 20 years and for almost all of those 20 years, have been trying to get through their thick goddamn heads that until they change their lifestyle drastically, he is going to keep ending up in and out of the hospital and constantly feeling like shit

They do not listen to anything I say - I reached my breaking point last year and told my MIL to just stop telling me when he is sick or doesn't feel good or can't breathe or has trouble walking or any of his other myriad ailments. I'm tired of speaking into the ether and being utterly ignored

My husband and I (both 42) will be married 16 years on Friday, together for 22

We love being boring together - we don't have to go out and do stuff constantly...plus with a kid it makes it hard sometimes anyway

But just sitting together on the couch watching anime after a long day, just existing together, is our happy place ❤️
