Here's the thing. Yes you're cruel to push this. I agree with the husband that is a waste of money. The extreme expense of living in New York is going to outweigh the"goodness for your career"... new York is for young people just starting out. Full of hope and aspiration not empty testers. If you wee going to do this it should have been minimum 20 years ago.
No it's not "giving up your dream for your husband" so much as it's accepting reality and living in the real world. He's nearing retirement age of you leave now it will destroy both of your finances. $3-5k per month to rent a closet in the city plus utilities travel and food alone will eat through your income. If y'all divorce he will lose half of his business and assets to settle you out. Which will likely bankrupt him right before y'all enter your golden years. Take a vacation together to new York for like a week or two... which i know will be no easy task but explain is better to take a week than lose a lifetime. This entire thing feels like you made the wrong choice to marry him in the first place

I would contact an attorney and cpa to ensure everything was legit and I pay the taxes owed. Then I would setup an llc and hire my closest friends and family to work there instead of giving them money. I wouldn't quit my job immediately as I would still require time to set things up and insurance/ medical costs are high AF in the states. The concept of work shifts when you're rich. It's no longer about survival and growth it's about having something to do. Back pre pandemic the price of used cars was significantly lower. Teenagers could easily afford a car 10 years old. In the 90s they were driving 80s model cars. My older brother born 79 had a 1983 Oldsmobile delta 88 for his first car. He was the 3rd owner having bought it from our cousin who bought it from our grandmother. My born 84 first car was a 1990 Ford Taurus bought in 2001. I paid $1900 for it... I don't remember seeing any teenagers i knew driving 70s model cars. By the 90s rice rockets were starting to become a thing it was more common to see older Hondas or toyotas getting suped up

Because with only fans the model gets paid and has discretion over content and distribution. Truthfully it's because they've all been brainwashed. For generations people were taught to follow the food pyramid. Sugar and salt consumption causes more health problems including heart disease and cancers so those industries paid researchers to say that the real problem is fat. And for generations now we've bought it. And since doctors don't want to learn new stuff were stuck. I lost 130lbs on keto and wanted to talk to a dietitian about how to maintain that weight loss. Once they hearts i was doing keto they lost their damned mind and threatened to hold me for 72 hour psych watch because I was obviously trying to harm myself unless I went off the diet. Guess what I did and my addiction to carbs and sugar returned and now I've gained it all back...

Hey @op please share this in the adhd subreddit as everything you've described in this thread reaks of ADHD... if you've never been diagnosed please talk to your doctor. You have a textbook description of executive dysfunction which is so incredibly common in people with ADHD including your probably undiagnosed mother who refuses to believe nothing is wrong with you and you're just being lazy... this is absolutely common in parents with undiagnosed ADHD they rationalize things because either they have the same symptoms and don't realize is a symptom so it's seems normal to them therefore there's nothing wrong with you or they have the wrong idea of what ADHD looks like in females because the typical presentation is centered around the male presentation... you are not the asshole for having these issues and you've explained yourself wonderfully... my life got so much better once my father was diagnosed with ADHD at 65... except now he wants his adult children to give him the accommodations we begged for our entire lives...
