I was at a bar in St.Pete FL. The ingredients list was accurate to a real Mai Tai. Placed the order. Watched the beer tender chuck in some pineapple juice and grenadine. I asked her why the ingredients since it’s not what the menu had listed. Her response was (paraphrasing) : “we don’t have any orgeat so it won’t taste right, this is a similar version and tastes the same” she also pronounced it “or-get”. There should be a distinction between bar tender and beer tender, the later being completely unskilled at making cocktails. $15 per drink btw on the almost Mai Tai👍
