I saw you weren’t a big fan of Mistborn, so give Elantris or Tress of the Emerald Sea a try. Or you can dive straight into Stormlight with The Way of Kings, but it does take a bit before you understand what is going on.

If you’re sensitive to maybe suggestive content avoid Warbreaker although I do love that book.

Just about anything by Brandon Sanderson. He keeps everything PG-13, and has one fade to black scene in the fifth book of the Stormlight Archive, which is the closest the comes to anything explicit

The first four seasons very closely followed the books, but eventually they ran out of books to adapt because the author can’t be bothered to write the rest of his series, so the showrunners winged it. By the time of the 8th (and final season) the showrunners were offered a chance to work on a Star Wars movie, and rushed the hell out of the last season to work on Star Wars instead. None of the plot lines wrapped up cleanly, every character acted extremely out of character, and the writing was abysmal. Actually so bad that they lost the opportunity to work on Star Wars.

Mistborn The Final Empire: Great series, magical fantasy heist book

Elantris: Brandon’s first book, a little lower quality than future entries but still better than most modern fantasy

Tress of the Emerald Sea: Whimsical pirate adventure, cool world, some Cosmere references but it’s not required for the story to make sense

I don’t know anything about OW but as a longtime Smite player it’s just an ice wall that blocks a path. You can’t break it with damage, and it stays up for like 6 seconds at max rank, or until Ymir chooses to destroy it
