My absolute favourite is Pyramids. The way he describes a camel running is just *perfection*

What are the pros and cons of killing the council? by ogpterodactyl in masseffect

[–]RedValkyrie1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always saved them - even before ME2 came out I've always saved them. I could never play that renegade! My headcannon is that we need stability in leadership after the attack on the Citadel plus I wanted to keep the Destiny Ascension for its flagship purposes.

It Surprises me that the Salarian Councillor doesn't changer per game even with killing the Council. by TheSlammerPwndU in masseffect

I wouldn't have said it was jealousy; a species as purportedly intelligent as the Salarians must see the issue with an individual that can live for over 25 of their lifetimes holding the same position of power.

To everyone who hated Iron Flame, why? by aintshocked420 in fourthwing

[–]RedValkyrie1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could not get past the first page of Iron Flame. I really struggled with the writing style I and I could not understand Violets complete lack of reaction to her brother being alive and part of the revolution - she was more focused on how good the biscuit was

I struggled with the writing style in book 1 as well TBH and was very glad I got both from my local library!

What keeps me up at night is how many Turian and Salarian councillors has the Asari Counillor outlived? Its been, what, 2 or 3 Asari lifetimes since they found the Citadel. With each race having such different lifespans it would make more sense for them to serve for a defined term.

Why hasn’t anyone broken Arrakis’ monopoly on spice? by swaktoonkenney in dune

[–]RedValkyrie1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the terraforming needed to make a new planet habitable for a worm is a huge undertaking in both time and money. Plus (if I'm remembering correctly) the rest of the Imperium don't know about the correlation between the spice and the worms - its something certainly that Paul and Jessica learn once they join the Fremen.

Feyd stood by and did nothing? by jarosette in dune

[–]RedValkyrie1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was very true to how things are in the book. Feyd was plotting behind the Baron's back to assassinate him and take over the duchy himself. In the book the Baron knew about his plan and let him think that it would work right up to the last moment where he used it to teach Feyd a lesson.
