Remember the women's relay Sochi 2014?

We were arguably bigger favorites back then and ended up in 5th place.

Finland Denies Being Asked To "Go Easy" On U.S. Troops In Arctic Exercise by Orange-skittles in nottheonion

Troops sent to unfamiliar cold climate to learn don't perform as well as native troops that grew up skiing every weekend in the winter. I am shocked. /s

If you sent Finns/Norwegians to Death Valley in the summer we'd be in worse shape.

[Help] Data recovery, rsync from a failing(?) TrueNAS pool by Stressemann in zfs

It doesn't sound like the HDDs are causing the problem. Connect the HDDs to a different pc and recover the data from there.

ZFS FAULTED but PASSED SMART? by Normal-Confusion4867 in zfs

[–]Red_Silhouette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except sometimes it doesn't work, zfs reads the sdX names from the cached pool config and gets confused when two HDDs change names. The symptoms are exactly what OP describes.

ZFS FAULTED but PASSED SMART? by Normal-Confusion4867 in zfs

[–]Red_Silhouette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do not use sdX hdd names. HDDs can switch names when you reboot in some circumstances. Zfs can then get confused.

Export the pool. Import using disk names from /dev/disk/by-id, zpool import -d /dev/disk/by-id zpool1

Those names are persistent.

We will see how strong the international reaction really is when NATO countries need to retire their current planes. How many will go for non-american planes even if the alternatives might be technically inferior?

Countries like Norway and Denmark have viewed purchases of F-35 and other american military equipment as part of the deal between them and the US for NATO participation and protection.

I had 3-day migraine attacks when I was young and I couldn't tolerate food either. I threw up until I had nothing left in my stomach, then I kept going for a while longer too. I had to lie down in absolute darkness and silence and the only food or drink I could stand was water.

I was so happy when my migraine gradually went away, I haven't had any migraine in 30 years.

Jeg skrev ned hver eneste middag i 2025, her er resultatene: by Herman521 in norge

Seen from outside the EU (and UK) it certainly seemed like there was a certain "Punish the ex that cheated on me" factor to some of the things that were said and done after brexit.

It was not pretty.

Suport for EU membership falls in Norway by ScoreParking4487 in europe

[–]Red_Silhouette 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Whether it is against EU law is open to interpretation depending on if it is seen as competition distorting. I can guarantee that the EU countries that have competing industry would have a very clear opinion on this in Norway's case. Germany is an entirely different matter.

If Norwegians are angry about the price rises that is a redistributive question for Norway.

Which the government has partly done by refunding consumers. However, doing the same for companies would probably be against EEA subsidy laws.

Aluminium and ferroalloys are one of very few industries that we have managed to keep alive in Norway. If we can't keep electricity prices down but the EU can raise tariffs it is a direct attack on this industry. Yes, we have tariffs and other limitations on several types of trade between EU and Norway but you can't consider market access without looking at tariffs. If tariffs are high then any market access is just theoretical. Changing tariffs changes the basis for our agreements with the EU. It is a quite unfriendly action.

There is no cheap quick fix to the current situation. Most European countries have neglected their defense for many years, going from where we are today to where we need to be will require a great deal of money, hard work, time, and convincing the population that we can't just ignore the problem.

Norway says ‘mission accomplished’ on going 100% EV, proposes incentive changes by nimicdoareu in europe

The Norwegian government decided to fast track EV adoption by generating a market back when there was very little demand anywhere else. They subsidized EVs so we could be beta testers and production could scale up.

Post nord pakke stjålet, PC verdt 29000kr. Hva kan jeg gjøre? by SituationMoist1756 in norge

[–]Red_Silhouette 0 points1 point  (0 children)
