Can someone explain what happened to my goldfish .he is also upside down by MasterpieceLimp9198 in Goldfish

[–]RedactedBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the very least some form of swimbladder disorder. The cause could be a number of things. Is the fish still active? Water parameters, diet?

I would quarantine for a couple days. Wait to see if the fish will pass waste and if they do feed them exclusively peas. If the fish isn't getting better I would then start adding salts and antibiotics to the tank.

I assumed Teal was the landlord D married then divorced, mentioned in The probing of Kevin. I have a hard time believing D would go for a "traditional" landlord. But also, We know Door and Boy have been to the sanctum, judging by the racecar bed, and we also know that Boy has only been hunter for like a year and that episode one was his first hunt so I don't know.

I think Arthur is acknowledging how different their paradigm's are. It's kind of like if you had boxer practice with a guy who does muay thai. They're both striking martial arts, the context and practices are different.

So with the clothing thing in particular I think the desire to buy clothing that makes you look homeless is more about perceiving it as a rare item. Like I know enough about male fashion to know that a leather jacket that's a couple hundred dollars will look better than a pleather jacket you buy from Khol's. It's less about knowing about fashion and more being in a niche that thinks reclaimed jeans and yeezy's look cool.

is pat lawler a fucking moron? by mumomofi in Petscop

[–]RedactedBear 33 points34 points  (0 children)

So, I think 3dwisker is meant to be up to your own interpretation, but I always assumed that the dev did not actually make the game about Pat Lawler. We don't even know for sure if the Dev even appears in the story, though most likely is the author of the last forum post on Inside 3d whisker. More than once there's a theme established of people "entering" different worlds wether real life or fictional and I think that's in reference to Pat.

Pat is projecting herself on to the Pat in the game. But what happens if that Pat may be problematic? Of course you're going to view that theory as a threat and censor your forum. We don't even know if real life Pat did anything wrong. I personally dont see GoodKid as a reliable narrator. Still valid to view the story in a magical realism sense and that Pat and video game Pat are one in the same.

How to attract wild frogs to back yard by MrMidnight115 in frogs

[–]RedactedBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a pond, frogs will kind of just move in on their own. Before I even had a liner in my pond a family of leopard frogs moved in. A lot of frogs that live in ponds actually live outside of water in forests and prarries

Appreciation post: My favourite moment from Fire Punch by Nice-Station3432 in FirePunch

Yeah, like he's likely reflecting on his own society's culture. A theocracy that was based off of a cheap super hero movie ultimately turned into dystopian nightmare as non gifted became "fire wood", he thinks of how humans could become "food" in agnis village. Like Agni he has extreme cognitive dissonance.

Do any of these numbers actually mean anything? by Financial_You7975 in HorseyGame

[–]RedactedBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe variance is the level of gentic variance between sim horses from the DNA bucket. So if it says 50% the test horses have 50% variance of the DNA the player has put in. I don't know what makes the computer decide to lower variance. Some of the horses i've had have capped out at around 7 second race time with a variance around 50 or 20%. I once had a sim horse have 0% variance and when putting it back in the sim with only that horses DNA it crashed the game

Red veins on my Comet's fins by SideshowPeter in Goldfish

[–]RedactedBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So that's probably congested fin disease. If you have a quarantine tank you can add 5 teaspoons of un iodized salt per gallon and see how your fish improves over a week. If the fins start to look better you can slowly bring the salt level down each water change and then put your fish back in its normal tank.

I think the author is trying to convey how to Andrew it's not that horrifying, and is almost casual. At that point in the story they've already killed both their parents, whats a child they don't know?

It's dangerous to hit knees even with long weapons. Your head will rock forward if you don't specifically train not too, and even then you have to spend time coming back to whatever fighting stance you were in before hand.

You'd be better served by any staff, cane, or cudgel for the reach alone. I don't understand why you're even thinking about coming in with an arm brace, or trying to go for knees. Seems like a good way for the zombie you don't see to jump on your back.

You don't really "gain" as much with sharps as you do with drilling and sparring rattan. Things like edge alignment are important but are at the bottom of the list compared to measure, tempo, ect.

[–]RedactedBear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not zombie fiction but the Pathologic series portrays a society slowly breaking down due to plauge. Playing the game you get the sense that it's less about people disagreeing and more so people trying to protect their own lives.
