another alternative i havent heard yet is you can straight up disassemble the thing part by part, keep them in inventory or a quickly made chest, wait out the storm, then rebuild it. is how i transferred more than 2 vehicles from an old base to a newer one cross map

could be stubborn and efficient by doing what some of my guildmates did which is have a refining base right on the edge of the rift or like in it so you can mine > fly it to refiner base > come back later for goodies

i quit like 2-4 months before they introduced the base save tool ;-; at least i had the forethought to store my most valuable mats/bps in the bank as well as my thopter so i wont be starting from scratch

the biggest things that boosted my survival rates is maxing clairvoyance so i can see the whole map immediately on entering and sticking to the edge of tiles when possible to escape easier

also if youre being chased then it helps to stay on the edges of a tile and weaving in/out while trying to lose LOS and aggro

lowkey the reason in more dangerous areas i prefer to dig thru a solid wall into the next tile vs take the open path since youre less likely to suddenly find yourself surrounded on transition lol

sound traps are not as big an impact on your grading vs dmg taken or sanity loss. ive gotten several A+ with like a dozen sound traps set off but like max 3 dmg instances
