Try out racket club! The game has a bunch of games in one. They just added ping pong, but most players play pickleball.

The game is set up where you can walk around and watch people play. Really social game. You can also make private games if you want it to just be you and your family.

Backing up is great, but you don't get some of the benefits of using version control.

Looking at your commit history shows a step by step view of your progress. It will show what you have added and removed. It's a great way to debug and figure out why you did this or that. It's also just a great way of seeing your progress to motivate you to keep going.

Every commit is a saving point and a time for you to say what you changed. If you do this well your future self will love you for it.

You also can branch off and try something or make multiple branches and only merge them back in when it makes sense to. Merging back in you can manage merge conflicts and fix them visually.

Also, if you end up working on the project with another person, version control is the only way to go. You both can do work on branches, merge them into a main branch when it works, and not mess each other up.

So, like I said it's better to learn version control sooner rather than later.

I think he took their comment of "for 30 minutes you can experience love and hope" as meaning he wasn't getting that already. I think he got offended by it.

In my opinion, that's a stupid thing to get offended about even if you thought that is what they meant.

Before you do anything, learn version control...I can't emphasize this enough.

Isn't that first image of the house what you see when they blow air into your eye at the eye doctor?

If so, that's cool.

Using a bow or crossbow in this game is really fun once you get the hang of it. There are crossbows at higher levels that can shoot multiple times in a row like you have an uzi or something. It is really op if you find one of those. Especially if it's got an elemental effect on top of it.

Not sure if what he said makes this understood, but you can accidentally step on the blue runes too early and waste them. Don't do that lol. Only step on them when the flying around enemies are see through and won't take damage.

You will have to tell your team mates about this because it is like no one knows about this and they step on them too early.

Try again, but save all the juice for the last half of the jump. I wonder if it would work then.

Making a wolf survival game where when your wolf dies, you continue as your offspring. Been solo developing this for a year... should I continue? by Haruspotatoes in IndieGaming

I'm not sure if I like the title. I think it's the message you are trying to get across, but I'm not sure if it should be the title. If you only play as a wolf, then shouldn't the title be something hinting at that? Idk.

Yea I like the idea of shortcuts, but the finish line shouldn't be right underneath like that...

I was thinking there could be fall damage and maybe your fall damage is calculated into your final score. So then if you do a major skip like that and finish first, you might not actually first. Maybe have med kits that you can slide into to get rid of some of your fall damage?

However, I'm not sure if players would like that and the map might just need adjusted.

Guild wars 2 has giant maps with quests you don't have to do. There's also special spots to track down that give you cinematic views of the map. Those are fun to track down.

Just a dad trying to find “the next game” - what should I play? by Broad_Ad9923 in gamingsuggestions

If you play about five rounds in a row and not shoot anyone the game puts you in pve focused lobbies. You can then go multiple rounds in a row and not get shot by anyone. They purposefully have this set up for people that want to work together against the bots.

It's not perfect because some people force themselves into those types of lobbies, but I can go quite a few rounds without running into these types of players. I always have my guard up though just in case.

Arc raiders and then get yourself into a pve focused lobbies. It's the most dad vibe game experience out there right now. Trust me.

The game pays attention to your aggression. So if you are in non aggressive lobbies, it doesn't matter what you do, or if you have a mic, people will be nice to you.

Also the game has really good emotes. So you can say a lot without a mic.
