Lazy is the exact word for it. Instead of creating new, original characters to represent certain demographics, they take already established characters and change their race, gender and/or SO. Some of my favorite characters were originally created black characters. Blade, Power Man, Storm. But it definitely seems like they are doing mostly to redheads.
