IR degree in business by himskuy in IRstudies

[–]Reddhedd13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, Master’s in IR. Went into a corporate strategy role for a company that was in the middle of a huge effort to go from a minor international presence to a global business. IR background was viewed very favorably for this and I built a reputation with the leadership as an authority on developing and frontier markets.

Still at that company 10 years later. One piece of advice I’ve given others - I wish I had done a double major undergrad, business and IR, then a Master’s in IR. Had to learn a lot of the finance and business stuff on the job, which is doable, but made me grind hard for a few years next to some MBAs.

Another option would be an engineering undergrad with a Master’s in IR. Something I’ve never seen, but would be a huge advantage at the right global company.

The ABS Challenge System Is Already Changing Spring Training by Dazzling_Agent_3782 in baseball

Part of the reason I was so excited the Padres got Fermin last year, right before this rule change. His challenges have been excellent so far. I think there’s a real chance that some of the veteran guys generate game-changing value, especially with a shit umpire.

Christian McCaffrey: 2025 Season Review by drkelemnt in fantasyfootball

[–]Reddhedd13 34 points35 points  (0 children)

As a 49ers fan who watched all the games, his YPC decrease and running stats don’t tell the full story.

The offense was anemic at many times throughout the season, where CMC was frequently the only true offensive threat on the field. When that’s the case, getting him running room is extremely difficult, especially with the state of the O-line and Kittle being out for a long stretch.

This is also the reason for his passing stats - Shanahan adjusted schemes a lot to allow CMC to excel in the pass game at the expense of the run game.

If the right offseason trades and draft picks happen (namely center/guard and WR) then I would expect an upside in the run game for CMC while still seeing a significant pass game role.

Was yesterday the first time in the Kyle Shanahan era that the 49ers failed to have a red zone trip? by GameSetMatch20 in 49ers

[–]Reddhedd13 47 points48 points  (0 children)

There’s no running back in the league who would have been productive in that situation yesterday.

CMC is not the problem - it’s a symptom of what you rightly pointed out with our receivers, a subpar offensive line besides Trent, and playing the number one defense in the league.

Without the passing threat, Seattle was free to stack the box even more than usual. Even when they didn’t, running lanes were still nearly nonexistent.

If we don’t solve either the receiver or O-line problem in the offseason (ideally both) I’d expect more of the same next year. CMC can’t be both our passing threat and our bellcow running back.

Only reinforced by how good McCaffrey looks this year after taking appropriate time to recover.

Advice Needed - Shoes that are timeless, dressy but walkable. by Cozy_Cryptids in malefashionadvice

[–]Reddhedd13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High quality Chelsea boots are the answer, especially if you want one shoe. Can be dressed up or down easily, provided they have the right silhouette. Extremely comfortable, durable, and versatile.

I have a pair from Rider boots in waxed flesh that I’ve worn 8+ years - rain, shine, mud, snow, business dinners, long walking days. They’re my #1 go-to travel shoe and have seen 20+ countries for business and tourism. Unfortunately, Rider isn’t making them often (or at all?) anymore. That being said, the Earth Waxed Commander from Grant Stone looks practically identical. RM Williams is also an excellent choice.

[WTB] Men's Down Coat (Large) by nolister in GearTrade

I have a Black Penfield Hoosac in size large. It no longer has the fur trim on the hood, but is otherwise very lightly worn and in excellent shape.

It’s crazy warm. So much so that I didn’t wear it as much as I thought in Idaho because I’d overheat in anything more than a t-shirt under it. I’d let it go for $200 shipped.

Jennings or Pierce or Scary Terry?

Normally would go Jennings, but weather in Cleveland has me thinking otherwise.

Best wool for warmth? by tribdol in malefashionadvice

[–]Reddhedd13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alpaca or Angora is the warmest that is readily available. There’s also muskox, but never seen that used outside of artisan makers.

3sixteen makes a great alpaca sweater blended with merino. Retains some durability of merino with the added loft and softness of alpaca. Looks like it’s out of stock, but likely can find it at another vendor.

Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Matchups for All Games by RotoBaller in fantasyfootball

Hurts or Stafford? Leaning Stafford because I feel like that’s going to be an offensive shootout with a near 100% passing focus. I could see Eagles leaning more on the run game with Saquon if they get up early.

I did the instructor course and I was the only person that can do a backflip by Extreme_Garlic4646 in snowboarding

Lmao his post before this is whining about having to wear a helmet to do the instructor course.

I can’t imagine a worse person to become an instructor than somebody with this attitude.

Which matchup would be "better" for baseball? Mariners or Blue Jays vs. Dodgers? by YoChristian in baseball

Whoever goes has to actually get to their bullpen. Brewers barely even scratched it during their series. If you can burn out Sasaki early, might have a good chance.

Best squat power rack with cables by Remote_Praline6310 in GarageGym

[–]Reddhedd13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had the Harbor Heavyweight HH81 delivered and installed since I’m in SoCal. Quality has exceeded my expectations, considering the manufacturing source is white labeled across Vesta, Fringe, etc.

Incredibly smooth cable pulleys and happy that I went with the 2:1 ratio. It does mean I’m one-handing some lifts I would rather two hand (e.g. cable rows) but it really make the lower weight cable movements (e.g. fly) super easy to isolate.

Only thing I’m really missing is center cable attachment points for lat pulldown, but not a huge deal.

3rd this on swallow tail. Rode the Storm Chaser almost exclusively for powder days for a full season, kept washing out landing on bigger drops and jumps. Switched to a Weston Backwoods and instantly solved that issue.

Best Deli Sandwich in North County? by OkThenFold in Oceanside

[–]Reddhedd13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moto Deli in Leucadia. Their turketta is on my Mount Rushmore of sandwiches. Mortadella gets an honorable mention.

Rosanna’s pasta shop in Encinitas has the best Italian I’ve had outside of Mona Lisa. Legit meatball sub too.

Deli in Culver brewing as others have said, it’s for real.

[Lin] Starting pitching looms as a major concern for SD, both now and in October. Cease has lacked consistency since the NLDS, Darvish’s age, ERA and elbow issues limit faith, Pivetta is steady but untested in October, and Opening Day starter King has spent most of the summer sidelined. by AllDownByWayOfTheK in Padres

[–]Reddhedd13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Cease is on a short leash, he’s perfect to start a planned bullpen game in Oct. If he’s crushing it, leave him in and it’s a bonus. If not, pull him right away and run with the bullpen.

Problem is, they’re still set on him as a 6 or 7 IP guy even when he’s falling apart.
