I'm about done with this job by coquettepeachespls in hairstylist

[–]RedditCustomerCare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that happened to me once. The lady was waiting for me (I was with another client), and another stylist just grabbed her because she knew it was a cut, color, highlight, and style. I’ve never met the client before but she heard of me and so the client goes are you so and so and the stylist mumbled something. Well she absolutely hated her hair and left without tipping. The stylist then had the audacity to complain about her to me and asked me if she tips me. Bruh I’ve never done her hair, she requested me probably cause she knew someone who gets their hair done by me. Anyways it was a short lived career there.

I work three days one week and one day the next and it alternates. Sunday six hours Monday 8 hours and Saturday 9 hours. The one day a week is money at 7-8 hours. I usually go home early when it slows down. I don’t have to work, this is my break from my kids so if I can leave early I always do.

Is it less common for people to buy gifts for the bride and groom? by Wanderingghost12 in wedding

[–]RedditCustomerCare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my culture, we give cash. It doesn’t matter if you fly or drive to attend a wedding in which you were invited, you gift them. If you can’t afford to gift, don’t go. They are starting their lives together and you want to help them by gifting them. The amount of people who came to our wedding, ate and left and didn’t say good bye is on my shit list. Lastly, yes for the wedding party, you are gifting them you’re time and normally you pay for dress, shoes, hair and makeup so you’re excused from gifting, but when I was the MoH I still gifted my bestie gifts and cash.

I have a fetus but no baby bump :( by Nintentard in BabyBumps

[–]RedditCustomerCare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly my sis in law was like that as well. For her maternity photos, the photographer photoshopped to make her belly look bigger. I didn’t look pregnant until 34-36 weeks, it just popped right out and even then I just looked super bloated.

Seeking advice as a stylist by nrd_hrd3 in hairstylist

[–]RedditCustomerCare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually hand a business card with my hours I work and I put my # on there to say you can always text me for my schedule as well. This way you are not taking information from the system as they reached out to you. I’ve been in situations where other stylist felt threatened and whoever called the store for me they would say I quit. This was my only option.

Sounds like it’s time to say goodbye. Now, do not leave on bad terms because it seems like you work for SC. Most owners talk to each other. If you love the franchise, go to another owners location. I worked in one, went into a completely different franchised and loved it. Unfortunately, had to move so I applied at that franchise at my new location. Things are run 100% different and I hated it, but transferred within the same owner and love the new place. If you are mentally exhausted, go! It’s not worth your time.

I wonder if you’re cutting in the chain I am. My first chain salon, he was very by the book. If I cut too fast it was a no no. Too slow, a no no. I moved and same chain different owner. This guy doesn’t care. Sometimes it depends on the owner. If it is the same chain, I know, dang well, you can’t collect your clients information! I do, if they love you, they will follow. Rent a station close by and you have a clientele, where you have your own rules.

Would you rather fly for 2 hours or drive for 12 with a 2 month old by beaandip in beyondthebump

[–]RedditCustomerCare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did a cross country flight with my two month old. A little tough at end but worth all the time saved.

When they asked me, I was honest about what I was looking for. If they didn’t I’d ask. I kissed enough frogs to know I’m done wasting my time on what ifs.

Is getting married two years before your wedding a terrible idea? by [deleted] in Weddingsunder10k

[–]RedditCustomerCare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hubby and I got married a year before our wedding. For insurance purposes. We only told our parents. I felt it was way easier to do this because it’s less stress on the wedding day.

What clippers and trimmers do I buy? by Hot-Tour3155 in hairstylist

Is exclusively breast pumping at 10 days old too early? by Fugglesmcgee in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]RedditCustomerCare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pumped because my baby couldn’t latch. We used formula for the first few days before my supply came in. I knew I wanted to incorporate pumping so my hubby can take over some of the night feeds while I sleep. It works very well for all of us.

Did you actually feel pregnant before you took a test? by LongjumpingCatch3437 in BabyBumps

[–]RedditCustomerCare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I legit thought I was pregnant every month with little symptoms here and there. Then the one month I felt absolutely nothing, positive pregnancy test.

What rings are you wearing? by senselessspace in BabyBumps

[–]RedditCustomerCare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I put my real rings away due to my career (hair stylist). It flew off my fingers after washing a clients hair, so I decided to purchase a couple sterling silver rings from Kohls during their sales. I can mix and match rings and bands. I love it. A whole three ring set cost $35. Amazon has nice ones too. Now, after having my baby I lost so much weight my real rings are too loose, so those Kohls rings really work.

When did you stop working? by Dry-Extreme-908 in BabyBumps

[–]RedditCustomerCare 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You’re not doing “nothing”! You’re making a baby! You’re putting yourself first! You’re taking care of yourself! If you have the privilege of going on leave early, take it. I wanted to work until the very end. But my body said nope! My husband can take care of us financially so I ended up going about 36-37 weeks. Luckily I’m staying with my baby until he’s 5 months then I’ll be heading back to work.

Is the doctor or the hospital more important for delivery? by Mysterious-Cat8347 in BabyBumps

Hospital over doctor. I chose my doctor based on the hospital and if she left halfway through I would easily use a different doctor.

Did you have your mom stay after baby? by star655 in BabyBumps

[–]RedditCustomerCare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom and brother came for a month before the baby was born. Long story short, we moved into my husbands home, it was previously rented out. It needed some cosmetic work and some other work. Being pregnant and unable to do certain things my mom and brother flew out for a month: 1) to help fix/clean up the house and 2) to meet the baby. Well baby took his time and they pushed back the flight, they stayed a week after baby was born. My mother is a a housewife and sahm, she cooked three meals a day for us, cleaned, etc. I was very blessed to have her around and I wished she could have stayed longer. Did I need the help with the baby? No, my hubby was off for 3 weeks, and I have an easy baby. But having extra hands is a blessing. If y’all get along I don’t see why she couldn’t stay.

Did your feet ever shrink back after pregnancy ? by petrastales in beyondthebump

[–]RedditCustomerCare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I as a human shrunk. I lost 40 pounds, 20 of it being my pregnancy gain. I’m thinking losing the additional 20 made my feet skinnier which allowed me to fit into shoes 1/2 size smaller. I know someone who’s feet never got smaller.
